Yeah, I remember the Operation MOVE thing. But I guess I was surprised that they used a bomb on a suspect.

We need to close our borders to returning soldiers until we "figure things out." The vetting process for mental illness in returning vets is nonexistent, so we can't have a bunch of crazy people with military arms training running around. Yeah, pretty much my meaning, embedded in my snark. And understandable on a few different levels, i.e. the unnecessary and fucking stupid foreign wars blow back in many different ways.

I've said it before, I think racism in America in some key ways reached a nadir several years ago, and has increased in the last 20-30 years or so. But, in other, more important ways, racism continues to shrink, such as the general conglomerate attitude of tolerance I see in people under 30yo as a whole. Thank goodness.

I don't know if murders by police are increasing, or if they are steady state. Economic conditions and general crime levels affect this, I think. And the ubiquitous cell phone video which has a very short history (~5 years?) has completely changed awareness and interpretation of killings by cop.

heh. I thought the (spurious) use of the word triangulation was interesting, in the context of the various JFK theories. As well as the film, JFK.

At least Parkland Hospital has figured out the trauma center thing. (Modern trauma surgery was basically invented by docs at Parkland, beginning before the Kennedy assassination.)

Apparently the first time a robot has been used to kill a suspect, domestically. Of course, the cops are adamant that there was no alternative.

Previously robots have been used for surveillance (camera visualization of a suspect), and at least once to deliver a pizza to a suspect in a hostage situation (I'll bet that suspect was white). It won't be the last time the blow up a suspect remotely , although the next time may be a flying killer robot.

Also, DPD obtained this robot through the federal program channeling military hardware to local police. Now every city will want one, pre-loaded with C-4 explosive. Mo money for the MIC.

I saw one anti-gun control advocate defend the cop saying it is irrelevant that the victim had a concealed carry permit, because there is no way the cop could have known that. True, so maybe having more people with guns on the street isn't such a good idea.
