Every year inside lacrosse does an all name team. This year we have Brickman House from Utica. If he was a baseball player his walk up music is pretty clear. But a guy who did not make the team was Rusty Dessert (which sounds like a dirty act).

Want to feel bad about your accomplishments in life? Compare yourself to David Bowie at the website http://supbowie.com/! See what Bowie was doing at your age!

For example, at age 51, David Bowie did this:
He launched his own internet service provider, "Bowienet". "Bowienet" included its own email accounts, forums, community blogs, interactive chat rooms and first dibs on all Bowie related content. Premium members could also pay to be first in line for tickets, and David Bowie himself engaged with fans in the chatrooms. Some high tech shit!

So, 23 people died from a catastrophe that occurred while they were watching a college football game - the deadliest sporting disaster in American history. Yet it is almost utterly forgotten.

I never heard about that. I suppose the earthquake a few years later caused this tragedy to fade from history/memory.
Who knows? Maybe, you were kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom.

I saw the picture of the dropped/melting ice cream cone and thought to myself, "Bill Murray is in this one."

But, I also thought Benicio del Toro would be in "The Cricket Glass".

Microsoft's new AI chatbot went off the rails Wednesday, posting a deluge of incredibly racist messages in response to questions.

The tech company introduced "Tay" this week — a bot that responds to users' queries and emulates the casual, jokey speech patterns of a stereotypical millennial.

The aim was to "experiment with and conduct research on conversational understanding," with Tay able to learn from "her" conversations and get progressively "smarter."

But Tay proved a smash hit with racists, trolls, and online troublemakers, who persuaded Tay to blithely use racial slurs, defend white-supremacist propaganda, and even outright call for genocide.

It's kind of unfathomable that Microsoft didn't predict or expect that something like this could happen. I'm awed that they didn't think to have some kind of filters or exclude lists of words or SOMETHING at least. No way someone doesn't get fired over this.

Hopefully not. This was a dumb mistake, but it doesn't seem like a fireable offense to me. Unlike the dancing girls of last week. Heads surely rolled over that (although they were almost certainly contractor heads).

Delaware posted this to Facebook--I don't know a lot about New York, but thought this was amusing for the window it gives into provincial attitudes:

Where is upstate NY? Voters are split

"Anything north of New York City" is basically the most stereotypically New York City thing.

When I lived in California I remember seeing people flip their shit about whether the Inland Empire included the easternmost parts of L.A. County.
