Re: Websites you visit daily
Good topic, let's keep it going.
Sportsfrog - Mostly for the front-page blog; also has a semi-active message board known as "The Swamp."
Facebook - For my daily dose of other people's narcissism and confirmation bias-laden shared articles.
Twitter - Like the above, but in 140 characters or less.
Something Awful - Full of sociopaths, but has enough intelligent people to make some of the discussions interesting. (Or is that the Swamp?)
Reddit - (sorry)
New York Times - Got really sick of the terrible state of major news sites, until it dawned on me a couple months ago to do what most people did until a decade or so ago: pay for a newspaper subscription. Not perfect, but still vastly better than the shit slurry of Fox/CNN/MSNBC.
Accuweather - After Weather.com turned into the Fox/CNN/MSNBC of weather.
CBS Sports - Trying to wean myself off ESPN; settled on CBS as it's maybe the last major national sports site whose front page is still reasonably clean and straightforward rather than being infected by cross-promotion and a mobile-oriented layout.
Deadspin - (sorry)
Wikipedia - For a random 2-hour rabbit hole.

This is one of those threads that I could have contributed to if I were Swamping 15 years ago, before I became a dried-out husk of a man. A bunch of far-left and LGBT sites, etc. Now it's just various sports sites, a couple of newspapers, and the wrestling sub-Reddit.
Carwash, I really should follow your lead and subscribe to the Times. That used to be a daily stop for me before it went behind a partial paywall. I miss it.

FB, almost exclusively on my phone
Fantasy football league sites in season (ESPN and CBS)
FB always leads me to ThinkProgress and other Lefty sites, and to a lesser degree Righty sites when HDO and ZMan comments pop up in my feed.
Huffpo 2 or 3 times a week to skim misleading headlines, which usually devolves into watching several Jimmy Fallon or Kimmel clips.

What do you guys read on Reddit? I find the format really annoying, and it seems like you need to have a specific subreddit in mind. I also find it really annoying to try and read a long thread, due to all of the side conversations with endless levels of replies to replies. I haven't spent enough time on there to figure out a better way to navigate the site.

Clutchfans has always been a daily visit since 1998, but I haven't enjoyed the place lately and with my trip to Cali, it's now been 12 days since I've gone. I hope I've broken the habit.

My 19 year old son is on reddit all the time. It's where he gets everything from world news to dumb videos. The Sybian wrote:What do you guys read on Reddit? He showed me how to navigate the site and there really is a hell of a lot of stuff on there that I'd be interested in.
But like he said, it gives me a headache and I avoid it.

The layout takes some getting used to. You can sort the threads by 'best' or 'new' or whatever. 'Best' is usually the worst option because dumb jokes are usually the top-rated comments. The Sybian wrote:What do you guys read on Reddit? Reddit is an infuriating place, but any site with that many users is going to be frustrating. It can be entertaining or helpful, tho. The smaller sub-Reddits (there's a sub-Reddit for whatever your interest/fetish might be) are easier to navigate.
Like it or hate it, it's worth paying attention to merely because of its size and its ability to drive conversation. And this year has been rather tumultuous, with various hate sites banned and the CEO forced to resign, etc. I love reading about Reddit more than I enjoy the actual content sometimes, and I've read dozens of articles and blog posts this year about that site. A lot of hand-wringing and pearl-clutching.
Re: Websites you visit daily
I browse the first few pages of /all, read the subreddit for teams I root for (sometimes going to the league specific subreddit,) genre specific music subreddits (r/music is repost hell,) political discussion, and r/catbellies cause I'm a sucker. The Sybian wrote:What do you guys read on Reddit? I probably have about 130 sub reddits i follow. Ones I read most are soccer, Iphone, CFB, Worldnews. The Sybian wrote:What do you guys read on Reddit?
