Online Sports Betting?

Post by Shirley »

Any Swampers actually bet on sports online? From my Googling, it seems like it is still legal, yet this is somewhat murky. Most of the US laws seem to be targeted at the bookmakers, not the gamblers. That would seem to mean that an offshore site would be essentially legal. Of course, that's what the poker companies though too, right?

When the US shut down the online poker sites, did US customers get their money back?

sportsbook.ag, used to be sportsbook.com

It takes forever to get paid, and the checks come from overseas, so they have to get sent off to the FDIC or something before they hit the account.

Very different for Canadians. No legalities to worry about, but none of the sites are based here.

I used bet365 out of the Uk last year just to lay off on a survivor pool bonanza.

But one of the smartest things I did was cashing out immediately afterwards - it makes betting too, too easy.

I use bookmaker.eu. I've never had any issues with them, though cashing the checks from middle eastern banks feels super shady. I have also used betjamaica, bodog and sportsbook. Do not recommend sportsbook due to their terrible customer service and difficulty I've had cashing out, the other books are ok.

I recommend reading the fine print before accepting any deposit bonuses.

i echo Pruitt. Betting online is way too addictive.

You can bet on a live tennis point. Yes a single point. You end up going ADD and betting on things that take less than 1 second.
Or I would bet if an NFL drive would go 3 and out or not. You can bet on literally anything.

bet365 for Canadians is no problem, got cashouts right into my bank account.

This site seems to have a pretty slick rating system for online bookmakers.

It doesn't like sportsbook at all. Bodog and Bet365 don't seem to be available for Americans.

I don't particularly like Sportsbook either, I've just been with them forever.

Sportsbook.ag is about the shadiest of the major online books but they're all garbage to one extent or another. The limits anyone here plays at probably doesn't have to worry but I've heard dozens of stories of dime betters getting bets disallowed after they win at Sportsbook.
