Valeri Belokon has filed a lawsuit against Karl and Owen Oyston and Segesta Limited (the Oyston's holding company) for "unfair prejudice" in relation to the Oyston's transfer of money from Blackpool FC to other Oyston-owned businesses.

BTW, Blackpool beat Chesterfield today 2-0. It's their first win by a two-goal margin in 521 days. It's also their first home win since January 31.

Re: Up the Pool (or maybe just not Get Relegated)
Fleetwood Town FC, which is based about 10 miles north of Blackpool and has advanced from the Conference to League One in the last couple of years, also is building a new training center. It's reportedly two to three times larger than the one Blackpool is building. And Fleetwood Town managed to do this without the EPL parachute payments.wlu_lax6 wrote:Maybe they are spending some money

Our new director is British and when my manager introduced us, he mentioned I was a Blackpool supporter. She just laughed and said "they have supporters?!" I quickly distanced myself.

You should've said they had supporters until the Oyston family screwed the club over.Giff wrote:Our new director is British and when my manager introduced us, he mentioned I was a Blackpool supporter. She just laughed and said "they have supporters?!" I quickly distanced myself.

Blackpool are unbeaten over their last six matches and were favored in their match against Crewe this past weekend. It's the first time Blackpool was the favorite in a match in more than a year.

It was the 1892 Lancashire Cup Final on 23 April that the clubs nickname of 'The Shakers' first came into being. Mr. J T Ingham was Chairman cum team manager at the time and it is this gentleman who is alleged to have been questioned about his team's ability to beat the supposedly stronger opponents that day. It has been recorded down the years since that Mr. Ingham retorted as follows:-
'We shall shake 'em, in fact, we are the Shakers'

Whoops, you're right. Actually, I misread the entire thing, as Blackpool were favored in their game against Crewe last weekend. They play at Bury this weekend.wlu_lax6 wrote:Crew? Re: Up the Pool (or maybe just not Get Relegated)
The Pool have taken 9 points in the last 3 games and are now 4 points above the drop zone. They play Oldham on Boxing day who sits below them in the table.
Re: Up the Pool (or maybe just not Get Relegated)
5-0 whooping today on Scunthorpe. Back out of the relegation zone.
Re: Up the Pool (or maybe just not Get Relegated)
0-0 draw against Sheffield United (in 7th). Pool in 18th, 2 points above relegation

The BST has been sending those letters to the away fans for most of the year. IIRC, the last game at Bloomfield Road vs. Bradford City had more away fans than home fans.
Also, the Football League and Football Association have agreed to participate in talks between the Oystons and Blackpool fan groups to try to mediate the chasm between the two. From what I've read, there's little chance to be hopeful because the fan groups won't relent until the Oystons no longer own the team.

Re: Up the Pool (or maybe just not Get Relegated)
Big 3 points today against slgihtly worse Doncaster. Pool sit 19th with 42 points. However everyone behind them has at least 1 game in hand (2 have 2 games in hand). Pool are 1 point above 20th and 1 point above Oldham 21st (1st relegation spot). Oldham and Pool have same goal differential right now. Feels like we are heading toward the same kind of relegation drama as the year they fell out of the Premiership on the last day to Man U.
Mid table Southend next and then Relegation battle with Colchester. But they have some top table teams still to face.

Re: Up the Pool (or maybe just not Get Relegated)
0 points over the weekend put the Pool back in relegation.
1 point back of Fleetwood, 1 point back of Shrewsbury...but Fleetwood has a game in hand and Shrewsbury as 2 in hand.
Pool has Rochadle (8th in the table), Fleetwood, Wigan (top of the table), and Petersborough (14th).
Well League 2 will be interesting...

The level of anger toward the Oystons is pretty impressive, too. I'm almost surprised they've made it this far without suffering grave bodily harm.

If Blackpool actually has an almost full roster by the beginning of the season that will be an improvement over this year.

I did read they've retained 16 players from this last squad so far, which is miles better than the six they retained after they were demoted from the Championship.brian wrote:If Blackpool actually has an almost full roster by the beginning of the season that will be an improvement over this year.
