Nah, I bet it's "you" or "my" or something. Too many other things to do when sexing than just "fuck".

If I could punch just one movie character, it would be the sister in Home Alone who says, "You're what the French call Les Incompetents."

I'd wail away on the grandfather from either version of "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." Lazy sack of shit won't even get out of bed (literally) despite the fact that the family is suffering in abject poverty. Part time job? No way.

But offer him a tour of a chocolate factory and he practically bounces out of bed, ready for his free candy.

Bum.

When you do the math on your script of vikes to figure out the exact moment it's socially acceptable to ask the doctor for more, is it time to admit you have a problem?

Saying "muchos gracias" to the Latin-American woman who is cleaning the bathroom at work. Playing the percentages, a little racist, or a lot racist? Asking for a friend.

I'd say it's slightly racist only if you know the woman speaks English well. If she doesn't speak it well or not at all, then I don't think it's racist in any way.

I think racist is too strong of a word...maybe stereotyping fits better.

I dont see anything wrong with speaking Spanish to someone who I am sure understands it, but I do feel dumb sometimes when I assume the person behind the counter doesn't speak any English.

But if you guess wrong, you can get away with pretending you don't speak English.

We have tons of Hispanics/Latins in our area. Similarly, one time I said Buenas Dias to a lady I didn't know, and my daughter chastised me. She said, "Dad, you don't know if Spanish is her first language. But, she knows English is your first language. So just say 'Good morning' to her, and you're good."

Nope, I do that with my adderalls from time to time. "Wait, how many days has it been?". I give a lot of them away to friends who also totally get ADHD on Saturday nights at bars.

Good line. Do you get withdrawals if you miss a dose? My insurance is really strict with refills. I can't get a refill until 28 days after the previous 30 day script is filled. At least in NJ, Adderrall requires a hard copy prescription and no refills. Pain in the ass.

My withdrawals, when I get them, consist of me being really, really tired in the morning. Like to the point where I struggle to get up within an hour of my alarm.

These are rare and then that's it. I know people get addicted to this stuff but I've been blessed with the ability to do cool drugs with relative impunity.

Some cool photos of our new building...

We were told not to post any photos of the new building until the "unveiling". It is pretty damn spectacular. Good to have a multi-billionaire paying the bills.

armamentarium was a word I learned in med school, professor types threw it around pretty commonly. I thought it a too-long pretentious substitute for 'tools'. often used by tools. but, I have not heard it much at all lately.

would've been a good word for the pythons' Spanish Inquisition crew.

The guy quoted in that story doesn't strike me as a "tool" per se...absolutely brilliant scientist for sure (came here from running his own lab at Stanford), but in more of the absent minded professor way (although I don't know him all that well).

Now his wife (who also works here)...completely different story. She usually eats lunch at the same time I do, and while she's also very smart, she's pretty damn full of herself.

I don't mind a person throwing around a big word every now and again. It doesn't necessarily make a person sound full of themselves. I try to throw out a big word as often as I use profanity; David Mamet is my spirit god in that area.

Don't get me wrong, a big word properly used is great. My medical school was filled with tools who used and misused big words to sound imposing and intellectual. One word does not a tool make.
