Sorry Brian. Scherzer leaves and Valverde gives up 4 in the 9th including the game winning 3 run walk off to Chris Dickerson. Nice win.

Jays-Padres in the 16th, it's getting a bit goofy now. Both teams have used starting pitchers to pinch hit and now the Padres and using tomorrow's (later today's) starter.

16 pitchers used so far. A strange brief chant of "USA! USA! USA!" from a dozen or so of the remaining fans. Buck's not kidding; they may have to take Jack Morris down from the radio booth. Off to the 17th we go . . .

Blue Jays fans actually outnumber Padres fans in the stadium now.

So, I had some things to do, went to the park, just joining the Giants/Cards in progress. Looking for Matt Cain to return to form, you guys.

(Third inning: 9 hits 7 runs, five of them with 2 out. No walks, no errors. Thank goodness for the sacrifice bunt.)
Who knows? Maybe, you were kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom.

Garrett Jones just hit a HR into the Allegheny. He's only the second player to ever get it in there on the fly. 4-4 headed into the ninth.

The Parrot is out there on a boat waiting for another one. Pretty good ball game today from PNC. Pretty good MLB day in general, actually. Or it could be that I'm just relieved inter-league is done for now.

'Til Tuesday. Blue Jays at AT&T.
(But I know what you mean. Athletics punked the Gints.)

Huge win.

I would like to take a moment to thank "The Save". I would like to thank it for merely existing.

Thank you, the save. Through your existence alone, you prevented the Pirates from having to face Aroldis Chapman yesterday and instead afforded them three innings against a stretched out middle reliever. That should have been a three game sweep - Bucs stole one.
