Q9. Name a player in the Pro Football Hall of Fame whose official description (i.e. on the HoF's website) lists him as a Fullback. (10)

CORRECT ANSWERS
Clarke Hinkle (1) - sancarlos
Bronko Nagurski (1) - TT
Larry Csonka (5) - chedda, Jerloma, Pruitt, Rush, wlu_lax
Marion Motley (6) - AB, DC47, GoodKarma, Gunpowder, L-Jam, Ryan

INCORRECT ANSWERS (11)
Franco Harris - rass (OK, this sucks. Harris was most definitely a Fullback, but for some reason the Hall of Fame lists him simply as a Running Back. I really wanted to give you credit, but making subjective calls really came back to bite me in the ass last week so I'm going to have to stick with to the letter of the question. Sorry, rass.)
Paul Hornung - bronto
Wishbone McRuntheball - BSF
Some dude named Moose or something - duff
Don Ameche - Syb (Assuming you meant Alan Ameche who was his cousin. Not in the HoF though.)
(no answer) - bfj

LEFTOVERS
Alphonse "Tuffy" Leemans
Ernie Nevers
Jim Brown
John Henry Johnson
Joe Perry
Jim Taylor

Clark Hinkle was my fucking ace in the hole. I used to be a Packer fan in my pre-teen years, and a friend of my father used to send me the Green Bay yearbook every season (this was back in their 60s glory days). One of them had a feature story on former Packer Clark Hinkle, the poor man's Bronko Nagurski. Finally that memory serves a purpose.

I watched a great 1939 Don Ameche movie the other day with the wife. But he probably only weighed 140 pounds soaking wet, so no Hall of Fame for Don.

Chuvalo is a Canadian icon, and the brutal beatings he took at the hands of Ali are probably the most famous bouts in Canadian boxing history.

Chuvalo was never knocked down, let alone out, at any level in his career.

Going out for a bit, will compute the final scores soon.

This is one I should've played. I knew Jim Brown was a fullback cuz when I was 7yo I wanted to be a fullback because he was one, and years later I noticed it on his bust at Canton. And I saw one Ali fight live, vs Evanglista , near the end.

INCORRECT ANSWERS (10)
Jesus Christ - chedda
Martin Luther King Jr. - Gunpowder
Malcolm X - Jerloma
Elizabeth II of England - Syb
Henry II of England - DC47 (This was a really good answer, but unfortunately not technically correct according to the wording of the question. Peter O'Toole was nominated for playing Henry II in two different movies: Becket and A Lion in Winter.)
I agree that my answer was wrong. Further, it wasn't actually 'really good. While I just saw "A Lion in Winter", I had no idea O'Toole played Henry II in Becket. And I fully understood the detail in your rule that disqualified 'double entries'. I rejected one answer -- Elizabeth I -- because I understood that one actor (Blanchett) playing the same character twice wouldn't count. Ironically, this would have actually been a correct answer; I didn't know that Dench also won an Oscar playing this character.

You whipped me but good Duff. You had terrific answers, time after time. I think I set a personal record for most correct answers that turned out to be the most common ones. And I thought I killed. Angola, Spain, Silverdome, Motley -- WTF?

Good game, DC. I thought you were going to wipe the floor with me on the FB and boxing question. I also matched you on Angola and Silverdome.

Thanks Carwash.

I looked for an unequivocal confirmation on this and couldn't find it, but I'm pretty sure he was never listed as a main cast member since he was only in like 13 episodes spread out over several seasons. He would have been prominently featured in the end credits, maybe that was it?

FYI--if that was theoretically right, you would have tied sancarlos, but the tiebreaker would have gone to him based on #10.

Few last points before moving on to the next round:

-Sorry bfj about your mix-up, but I hope you continue to play out the remaining rounds in the spirit of competition and camaraderie and also for the chance to potentially sabotage other people's scores.

-If I had theoretically given bfj's slot to Jerloma as compensation for getting knocked out in the play-in round, he still would have lost to GoodKarma, as would have L-Jam. AB would have won but he hasn't complained (yet).
