The Arizona Diamondbacks just put out like 8 new uniforms, not one of which actually say "Diamondbacks".

Have gradients ever really worked on any uniform ever?

I'm going to opening day to see the Crew play the Timbers. Maybe we'll be wearing these to complete the train wreck:

I think they only did this for one year. One of the most bizarre uniform experiments I can remember.

Are the stars for Cup wins at the Joe?
As was pointed out when the Pens released their 50th anniversary patch earlier this week, featuring three Stanley Cups, do they redesign the patch if they happen to win this season?

Re: Uniforms, Logos, and Such
yeah Wings have won 4 cups since 1979 when the Joe opened.
When the Oilers and the Wings move to their new arenas, the Flames will be playing in the oldest one (not counting the newly renovated MSG).
And with no solution in sight, not for another 10 years anyways, would not surprise me if there is a risk in about 5 years of Calgary losing it's team.

Fitting a fifth star on there would be a good problem to have.rass wrote:Are the stars for Cup wins at the Joe?

I think Chelsea's jersey last year did a pretty good job with it.rass wrote:Have gradients ever really worked on any uniform ever?
But yeah, generally gradients don't work on clothes.

Agreed. It wouldn't have looked nearly as good as a straight gradient.A_B wrote:Well, the stripes break that up pretty good

Re: Uniforms, Logos, and Such
Technical term for that would be gradient pattern, since the colors themselves don't actually morph into another shade.
Re: Uniforms, Logos, and Such
I actually kind of like these, because it's not as obtrusive and kind of fits the environment, but I can't think of another one that wasn't horrendously 90s

I have no connection whatsoever to Hartford, but the NHL has been kind of dead to me ever since that team ceased to exist.

SoccerByIves says this could be the us away kit for the Copa this summer. Guy who leaked this has been correct on a few other usa jerseys he has leaked in the past.

Re: Uniforms, Logos, and Such
Maybe a practice jersey. I got an e-mail from US Soccer today saying "New Crest,"with a link to the shop. That is the new crest, but that shirt is too damned ugly to be a game jersey. Every item with the new crest said limited edition, so hopefully they aren't planning on keeping the horrible crest.wlu_lax6 wrote:SoccerByIves says this could be the us away kit for the Copa this summer. black is going to be the national uniform pretty soon, may as well get a head start

The USA Logo part is similar to what USA Basketball has done. All Hail our Nike overloard

Still not as strange as the advertising on the waist of the CONCACAF refs (Futline/Comex is the magic spray).

I thought that was a reminder to players of the limit for a high kick infraction.wlu_lax6 wrote:Still not as strange as the advertising on the waist of the CONCACAF refs (Futline/Comex is the magic spray).
I have been so used to the old crest, I haven't given it any thought in a long time. Looking at it critically, it is childish and outdated. I still hate the new crest, it would be fine for a brand's logo, but just doesn't convey "National Team." OTOH, whenever a new logo or jersey concept comes out, I almost always hate it, then get used to it.
Looking back, the USMNT doesn't have a good history of jerseys. Especially the Adidas years.
