Carson is now suspending his campaign and won't take part in the debate tomorrow night.

That's true, but it's still a little disheartening to see the lengths Bernie supporters are going to shit on Hillary. I had to unfollow a couple of former Swampers on Twitter because literally every other post was crazy, insane shit from infowars or breitbart on Hillary eating babies and shit. It's insane.

Sanders Campaign Headquarters Smashed Up By Gang Of Pinkerton Union Busters

Image
BURLINGTON, VT―Wielding billy clubs as they kicked down the door and began smashing everything in sight, a team of union-busting officers from Pinkerton’s National Detective Agency reportedly tore apart the headquarters of Vermont senator Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign Wednesday. “Your little operation here has been causing problems for some of our clients, so I’m afraid we have no choice but to shut you down,” one of the Pinkertons said through his brushy, waxed mustache as he grabbed senior campaign advisor Tad Devine by the lapels, shoved him against the wall, and ripped a “Bernie 2016” button from his shirt before crushing it beneath his boot heel. “This presidential bid stops right here, see? Or next time it won’t just be a few filing cabinets and boxes of stickers that get a working-over from the boys here, if you hear what I’m saying.” Sources said the hired goons then filed toward the exit, upending a table stacked with “Feel The Bern” coffee mugs on their way out.Image

Speaking of Todd Purdum, what the hell happened to him? He was one of the last good journalist at the NYTimes way back when. Wiki sez he's an editor at Vanity Fair, but I haven't read anything from him in years (then again, I lost interest in all this junk.)

I miss Hitch, even though he was a tremendous asshole.

Why can't we just have Hillary run as the GOP nominee, Bernie as the Dem, and have a real choice between two candidates that accurately represent a huge number of American voters.

I think you're going to get that. I think the Trump pivot to pick up Bernie Bros is on the way. He's well positioned to make income inequality the theme of the general election. Pretty soon you'll hear a lot less about undocumented immigrants and a lot more about free college and student loan forgiveness.

Still trying to understand the logic from the Republican kingmakers that having Romney go on the attack against Trump does anything to cut into Trump's support. Do Trump's voters give a shit about what Mitt Romney thinks?

Since I don't follow this much more than this lovely website, can you expound on this? I'm just having a disconnect on a man of Trump's wealth and background being able to score points with "income inequality".

One of Trump's talking points has been how China is killing us on trade. I don't think it's a far stretch to equate being killed on trade (or fixing that issue) with fixing the middle class (more factory working jobs), which dovetails with Bernie's anti-big business, Wall Street positions.

Utah and Idaho have yet to vote (might also be able to add Michigan but I don't know how much sway Mitt has there).

GOP needs Cruz or Rubio to win 8 states in order to be able to win the nomination in a brokered convention.

China's currency manipulation is a big issue. They keep their currency artificially low to attract imports to Americans and as a result American businesses setting up shop to sell to Americans. Money going out. Copyright is also a big issue, China fucking steals everything. Would President Trump attack China on these issues at the table?

I forgot to add this to the list of Trump campaign promises in the general--he'll end the War on Drugs. He could easily pick up and run with Bernie's positions on pot and heroin--the white people drugs--and propose some pretty compelling and sensible reforms that would make a difference. As usual, his prior statements on the subject are all over the map, and he has no track record to defend, so he's free to go big on this one.

Of course he is, but that doesn't distinguish him in a presidential race. The fact that he comes from a sales background, not a legal one, does.

I don't think that's quite right...I think that they need to win delegates from 8 states...not win 8 states outright.

A quick search says they must have the majority of delegates from 8 states.

I think there's a mathematical reality there though and a political reality. If Trump doesn't have enough delegates, but is still close to the threshold and Cruz and Rubio have split enough for a majority, there's no way they can just "combine" all of those delegates together to nominate one or the other. There would be a riot.
