Aubrey McClendon
Y'all probably have no idea who he is/was.
Anyway, he's the former head of Chesapeake Energy, which owns the naming rights to the Thunder's arena in OKC and he's a part owner in the team. He was indicted on conspiracy charges yesterday.
And died in a car crash this AM.

Re: Aubrey McClendon
Yeah, I saw the indictment charge then just got an alert that he had died. Wow. Hard to not connect the two.
You know what you need? A lyrical sucker punch to the face.
Re: Aubrey McClendon
I wonder if his life insurance will claim it was suicide and refuse to pay off. They'd probably be correct, but I think the policy beneficiaries would have a good case for argument.

As a fan of the late, great Seattle SuperSonics, I'll take the high road and say "I'm sure his family loved him very much".

Some policies cover suicide after you've held the policy for s set number of years.sancarlos wrote:I wonder if his life insurance will claim it was suicide and refuse to pay off. They'd probably be correct, but I think the policy beneficiaries would have a good case for argument.

And Aubrey Huff.
Was the indictment for the shit he did a few years ago when he was fired, I mean when he left the job to spend more time with his family?

Who knows? Maybe, you were kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom.

Re: Aubrey McClendon
I believe the recent indictment was for bid-rigging between Chesapeake and another major oil and gas exploration firm. A previous claim was settled with a cash payment in Michigan.
I ran across McClendon in his role as real estate developer. He's been trying to put a large up-scale development (homes, marina, golf course) into a tremendous dune area on Lake Michigan just north of Saugatuck. The land is between two large protected natural areas. McClendon has been just as aggressive in this project as he was in his primary business. His cash and legal moves have pushed the small township government that controls zoning in this area to the edge of bankruptcy. His primary opponents are the usual poorly-funded group of nature-lovers; I'm among them in a small way.

Re: Aubrey McClendon
So there's that.Governor Mary Fallin called McClendon “a visionary who raised the profile of Oklahoma.”

Re: Aubrey McClendon
To be fair, it doesn't take much to raise the profile of Oklahoma.
