I have that in a t-shirt. Bought it on vacation in Quebec last year. Gets some funny looks when I wear it to the gym here in California.

Take this to the Confessions Thread.

Best minor league jersey ever:

And the sweet shoulder patches:

When I was playing roller hockey, I needed extra large jerseys to fit over the goalie pads. I had a field day on this new interweb thing called e-Bay, and bought a bunch of Russian KHL jerseys. Some of them are really sweet.

The Patti Smith tune, Because The Night, in some ways (like in my mind) her signature song, also written by The Boss. They can't hurt you now.

ETA: Smith has a co-writing credit, she wrote some of the lyric verses. I forgot about that. http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=1028

Sweet! This company makes replica jerseys for old hockey, soccer and baseball teams. They also make jerseys, hats, and cheerleading outfits from your favorite fictional teams and schools on TV and in film! Bayside High Kelly Kapowski cheerleader uniform to fulfill your teenage fantasies. Or fulfill your pervy adult fantasies for the older among us. Apollo Creed's shorts? Why not, and get Michael Spinks' and Ivan Drago's, too. Bobby Boucher's jersey from Water Boy, complete with Bourbon Bowl patch. Not only a Binghamton Whalers jersey, but a Broome Dusters jersey, too! I may need to get that. Gotta love the Johnny Hart (BC Comic Strip) logo.

As many of you know, Manfred Mann had three different hit singles written by Springsteen, also including Spirits in the Night and For You. Howard noted Because the Night which charted for Patti Smith, and there was also From Small Things, Mama (Big Things One Day Come) for Dave Edmunds, and Fire, a hit for The Pointer Sisters.

Speaking of "Blinded By The Light," I am pretty sure the writer had no idea what the word "deuce" was supposed to mean and just included it because it sounded cool.

I looked this up, and according to a random guy on the internet:
I guess everyone here is too young to know..."deuce" has always referred to 1932 Fords. As in "little deuce coupe" by the Beach Boys. A very popular car to chop, channel, and hot rod in the 1950s and 60s, because the body is separate from the frame. The Boss would know this.

A Blue Angel and a Thunderbird crashed today within an hour of each other. The Thunderbird pilot ejected safely. The Blue Angel pilot didn't.

This weekend the Thunderbirds are supposed to be here for the Air Show. They probably won't be now.

Many youtube vids, you click them, and an ad vid plays first. Despite many different adblock extensions I have on various browsers.

eta: ok, I tried a couple of youtubes on Opera, with adblock, and it seems to work. Nevermind and thanks.

How is that remotely possible? You've never listened to a radio? Or music in public? For someone who owns, listens to, and knows a LOT of music, there's no way you have that big of a hole in your knowledge.

He obviously never lived in New Jersey. A college roommate was big into Bruce. He took all of Bruce's albums (CDs), and created a compilation on cassette tapes of every song in alphabetical order. Do I need to mention he is an engineer?

I don't listen to the radio, aside from NPR. I probably have heard some but I can't tell many Bruce songs. Dancing In The Dark, Born In The USA is about it.

We've been doing the geeks who drink pub quiz, couple of weeks ago they had his song Nebraska as a clue (big song right?) had no idea what it was. I think the last time I "listened" to a Bruce song was when Born In The USA was huge.

Had a roommate from NJ that probably listened to him back in the day, but it just didn't stick.

I remember a few years ago Bronto(?) got into him and I made a note to check out more of his stuff, but haven't gotten to it.

This is correct, as I mentioned had a NJ roommate, and a few NJ friends, but I guess they saved Bruce for private time. I know a lot of Billy Joel because I've spent time on Long Island.

UBlock Origin works fantastically for Chrome. I misquoted at first, AdBlock popped into my head. I believe that the product AdBlock doesn't work as well as it did, maybe people are paying them to not block or something...but as you found it to work with Opera. Fantastic!

I stopped using AdBlock because I was getting more and more videos that flat out wouldn't work. Many providers are wise to ad blockers and won't show their video (or web content) if you have one. I got tired of either trying to figure out why a video wouldn't load or adding whitelists to AdBlock.

I went through the same arc with an extension that kept Flash from autorunning. Too many sites failed in odd ways that I got tired of having to work hard to surf.

I can guarantee you know more Bruce songs than you realize. I wouldn't consider Nebraska one of his bigger songs. That said, given your love for old Americana-type music, I think you would like that one. Very simple, acoustic guitar, harmonica and dark lyrics. Could easily have been a Johnny Cash song. Pretty sure it was inspired by the movie Badlands .

Yeah I mean you pick up a few just on movie soundtracks (Philadelphia, Secret Garden was on Jerry Maguire). Add in Born in the U.S.A., Dancing in the Dark, Glory Days, Born to Run, Thunder Road, and the River you are up to 8 right there

I know the bolded ones, other two...no idea.

I thought Nebraska was a great album, maybe not a hit but one of the things you need to listen too, blah, blah.

I did like it, maybe I'll listen to the album today.

I had that problem with the script blocker that Scottie recommended. I've only had maybe 2-3 sites that didn't like uBlock. Plus it keeps track of the ads it blocks per site, so you can laugh maniacally.
