When I lived in Michigan we bought one from Home Depot or Lowe's or some such. If you're just using it to store lawn equipment, etc. can't imagine you'd need anything special or custom. We assembled it ourselves and except for the usual grumbling with that kind of project, it was pretty straightforward and fairly cheap. (About a couple, maybe three hundred for a plastic 6x6 (don't quote me on size or price exactly since it was like 13 or 14 years ago, but thereabouts.)

This is pretty much the one I got (it was Rubbermaid at least)

Though this one looks nicer. The one I bought was a lot more simple.

Pros and cons of wood versus plastic or composite or whatever?

The local place that advertises really nice wood and vinyl ones (and says do not, do not, do not, do not buy a Home Depot version) is CRAZY expensive. Like thousands of dollars for the smallest models.

Wood Pros: Natural shed as G-d intended. Doesn't break when heavy shit hits it. Easy to paint/stain/mark as "Mr. D's shedclub 4 boyz. No girls allowed!"

Plastic Pros: Lighter. Cheaper. Non-biodegradable. Generally that version of Tan/Green that your neighbors will love to look at out of their kitchen window.

Unless you were going to be getting a larger wooden one that you'd be spending any time in for like woodworking or whittling and shit I couldn't imagine not going with the cheaper plastic/composite version. Like Ryan said, the difference in price is ridiculous. We gave ours to a neighbor when we moved and some 13-ish years later as far as I know the cheap Rubbermaid one we bought is still standing.

He Shed, She Shed?

Yep. I don't want to live on this planet anymore. Go ahead and take me out behind there and put one in my Shed Head.

Counterpoint: No danger of someone rolling up and putting it through a plasticchipper.

Plastic is so easy to assemble. Wood is a never cut exactly right, and you'll be a cursing, pissed-off mess by the time you're done.

This is our shed. It is awesome and it is wood. But, I paid a dude to assemble it, so I didn't end up a cursing, pissed-off mess. (And, my testicles are still intact.)

I stored my cheap-ass lawnmower with my cheap-ass weed whacker in my cheap-ass plastic shed and I feel pretty secure in my manhood.

Although that is an excellent shed, you do lose manhood points for the window planters.

Bonus of plastic shed is that heavy winds can actually blow it off where it normally sits. You can also then brag about pushing it back into place.

That's one of my concerns with plastic. Other is judgment, both internal and external.

You're gonna do this anyway if you haven't already, but go to Lowe's and Home Depot and look at some. They should have quite a few assembled and on display already.

Some of the plastic ones look better than you'd think and some of the wood ones look kinda ratty. Essentially (as always) it comes down to price.

That is where they keep their TVs and their generators. Gotta charge the cell phones, and can't do it in the house.
