OFFICIAL Swamp Discipline Thread

Post by rass »

THE SWAMP (Aug. 25, 2016) – The Sports Frog has suspended contributor Pruitt from the Swamp message board for six months for conduct that is counter to the organization's principles.

The suspension for Pruitt, who was previously disciplined with a forced sabbatical when random testing showed evidence of a cynicism-masking agent, is effective immediately.

"The comments by Pruitt in regards to Bruce Hornsby and The Range were unacceptable and do not meet the standard of conduct we require from our contributors," said a statement issued by board admins. "Beyond his questionable opinion on the quality of BH&R and the suggestion that a mid-80s rock/jazz/jam band outfit qualifies as Yacht Rock, Pruitt's reckless statement appeared to disparage Yacht Rock as a whole. Smooth jams and lush arrangements, just like cold drinks and hot summer nights, are bedrock principles of the Sports Frog. We expect all of our representatives to honor those principles, with no exceptions.

"Taking into consideration the past incidents involving Pruitt, as well as the private conversations we’ve had requiring him to conduct himself in a manner befitting a Swamper, the Sports Frog determined this is the appropriate disciplinary action. He doesn't find Michael Keaton funny! The fuck? Damn it..."

As a result of the suspension, Pruitt would not be eligible for selection to the Swamper of the Year list in early 2017.
I felt aswirl with warm secretions.

Conversely, I'd like to note that EnochRoot is making a strong push for my new favorite swamper due to putting up his doggo as his new avatar.

Also to point out, how did we not suspend rass for denying us his Selma avatar in favor of some shitty Penguins logo?

I feel that the ban of Pruitt is just beating a dead horse.

This isn't the "discipline" I was expecting.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

If stating an opinion about the music I loathe is a crime, than yes, I am guilty.

In my defence, I didn't realize that Mr. Hornsby went on to a respectable career playing music that was a bit less smooth than his initial hit. But the song I cited definitely fits the "Yacht Rock" designation.

So I will take my punishment like a man.

Yeah, me too. Until this:

Like there is such a thing (and I'm not mainlining it every twenty minutes)

Although I like the idea of more swamp discipline. If only we had a chief judge…
Who knows? Maybe, you were kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom.
