They've set aside 12 hours. There's a 48 second skit that's taking 90 minutes.

Wow, Assembly Line from The Commodores first album. Lots of other stuff I haven't thought about in decades, this is pretty cool.

New Dinosaur Jr album is pretty good. Love the fact that they made a skateboarding video and none of them skate in it except for Mascis at the beginning.

Most underrated song on that album by a mile.

One of my favorite verses of all-time:

Seems like just a different kind of dope sick

Than try to have a point and make it clear

Wilco is playing five nights in a row in SF at the Fillmore right now. One of my friends is a super fan who is going to four of them, and offered me a ticket to any of them. But my parents are visiting the entire time so I had to demur.

Wonderful album - very old school Studio One reggae feel.

I was thinking to myself that the chorus of Sting's new song sounds like the chorus of the "Good Luck Charlie" theme song. Then I realized no, and much worse, it sounds like the chorus of the "Austin and Ally" theme song.
I felt aswirl with warm secretions.

Not sure I get the hate for the new Bon Iver album. Who wants a band or artist to make the same album every time? I think it's just as haunting and beautiful as any of Vernon's other albums with Bon Iver or Volcano Choir.

I don't get the hate, but I do agree that in many ways it is his least accessible.

True, though at least it's not being inaccessible for inaccessibility's sake like some bands might occasionally be guilty of. (*cough* Radiohead *cough*). I think the album is meant to be a study of loneliness and separation and some of the production is meant to convey that just as much as the lyrics.

Other than his recent (hypocritcal) Pepsi/Beyonce comments, why would he garner hate?

There are artists I like where I'm pretty sure I would like the person behind the art (St. Vincent, Will Sheff) and there are artists I like where I probably don't want to know anything about the person (Father John Misty). For some reason, beyond the series of one-off annoyances, Vernon has always seemed to fall closer to the latter category. There's not a good reason like with FJM, but just something, like the minor comments are a window into major comments that haven't yet been made? I don't know. Same with Win Butler.
