I love that they're losing golf tournaments, at which I would assume nearly every trip to the bathroom is into a unisex box near the woods

When talking to somebody that supports the GOP leadership in NC these days...and down the board when confronted by climate change denialists...and FFS, when you have to collect your thoughts to approach a Trump supporter who just said the most ridiculous thing...

My town alone is losing 4 NCAA championships. Nice work, GOP!

I'm not sure if this is about sports, but it certainly matches the rest of the topic...

Pretty sure that's a photoshop/joke. I've seen it for probably every university in the country.

CNBC say costing North Carolina north of 110 Million (and that was before the ACC joined in pulling out)

From the end of that article, when even the whitebread conservative PGA is against the law (but not enough to pull the 2017 PGA Championship), you know you're on the wrong side.wlu_lax6 wrote:CNBC say costing North Carolina north of 110 Million (and that was before the ACC joined in pulling out)

I think they would pull it early next year if nothing happens. Probably trying to stall

Re: North Carolina Bathrooms and Sports
Can they really get another course ready in time for a major? Doesn't it take the better part of a year to get a course ready to host a major? (Not just obvious stuff like stands, etc. even the actual literal course itself like the grass being grown just so, etc?A_B wrote:govmentchedda wrote:From the end of that article, when even the whitebread conservative PGA is against the law (but not enough to pull the 2017 PGA Championship), you know you're on the wrong side.wlu_lax6 wrote:CNBC say costing North Carolina north of 110 Million (and that was before the ACC joined in pulling out)

You'd know better than me. I thought I remember reading articles that it takes a year to get a course ready for a major.

"Urinal lot of trouble if you don't change that law," is probably what they're saying to people.

Re: North Carolina Bathrooms and Sports
They could but it isn't ideal. It would have to be one that is major ready of course. Where all you have to do is bring I. The stands and shit and not worry about the course.brian wrote:Can they really get another course ready in time for a major? Re: North Carolina Bathrooms and Sports
There's probably 8-12 courses youcouldnhave a major in next week. If hey pulled it for next year they'd almost have to use one of the courses used in the playoffs that would just move up a week or two. Not sure if bethpage is he Barclays next year but that would be the course I'd pick in a pinch.

ACC title game moved to Orlando. Location makes sense and nice symbolism too.

Well apparently the ACC is hosting events outside of NC, except when they are not doing that

I'm pretty sure they said at the beginning they were pulling all of their neutral-site championships, not the ones held on campuses.

Re: North Carolina Bathrooms and Sports
So the NCAA is taking bids for championships. Looks like NC has 12 days before they lose a ton of years for championships. Estimated impact is $250M. I don't see NC changing stance and the NCAA is just not even considering their bids.
