2016 World Cup---Indoor Style

Guessing nobody noticed but their is a Futsal World Cup going on right now. Maybe we would pay attention if the US did not get knocked out from qualifying for the regional qualification effort by Canada. No Concacaf teams got out of the group stage.

I've been following a little. It's been a big deal in Vietnam because they shocked Japan to qualify and then equally shocking they actually won a game. It's the first time Vietnam has qualified for a World FIFA tournament of any kind. (The women should have qualified for the senior World Cup last year but they fucked up).

That said they're going to get destroyed by 3rd ranked Russia today.

Watched the 2nd half of the Russia-Vietnam match. A fewthoughts
1.) What part of Russia is Robinho from?
2.) Russia was very impressive
3.) A very entertaining game to watch with very little negative tactics

Vietnam started pulling the goalie in the first half.
Russia has 4 Brazilians. Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan too!

Iran v. Brazil was FANTASTIC. My whole family was captivated by this one. I find it interesting that Brazil's Futsal kit is not Nike but a separate sponsorship deal.

Iran are the Asian futsal powerhouses. They have won the Asian cup 11 out of 14 times but have only ever gotten one 4th place finish on the world stage. They got put into an unfortunate group with Spain and Azerbaijan and ended up 3rd setting up this match up against Brazil.
