ffs. Not like baserunners are likely to be at a premium tonight, go ahead and squander a couple. Nice pickoff play, cubbies.

Mr d said that shit about no pitchers being locks for hall of fame as of right now but I think posey may be as close to a lock as anyone close to his age.

There's no way Buster P. has already punched in.

(There are hitters. Pujols, Miggy, Beltre, Ichiro ... I'm sure I'm forgetting someone.)

But is he as close to anyone who is 29?i think he needs a few more high level seasons but the bar for catchers isn't as high. Three titles matters. He's closer than Yadier Molina in my open ion.

Sure, but that wasn't my original point. Kershaw couldn't be more in by that measure.

Of all players playing right now that are younger than posey, I think only trout is more of a lock. And of all players older, the list isnt that long. Pujols, Cabrera, um....., does baseball suck? Beltre? I think so but who knows.

Stanton does not belong on this list. He's well behind players like McCutchen and Goldschmidt, just to name two off the top of my head. I'm sure there are a number of other of <30 players with far stronger resumes than Stanton.

ETA: Just realized you don't have Beltre? He's an absolute lock. I think Chase Utley probably is a pretty sure thing, too. At least he should be. Carlos Beltran also has a sneaky strong case. For accomplishments by age, Felix Hernandez also has a very strong resume, all though he seems be slowing down.

You guys sure are bastardizing my original point.

(If we're going this way, I'll take Machado in any HoF forecast. McCutchen is out for now because there's no way he's had enough of a peak if the decline is starting.)

Donaldson was sitting dead red in a real fastball count and that was a nasty slider up in the zone.

Too busy watching the game and then taking my giddy Mother-In-Law home.

Happy Thanksgiving, what a game. Osuna is a beast.

And as an added bonus, the ball game removed any temptation of watching the Trump-Clinton thing.

I think I just massively jinxed both the Cubs and the Dodgers - I bought tickets to Games 4 and 5 of the NLCS at Dodger Stadium.

RIght before the Dodgers lost yesterday. Nate Silver tells me that I now have about a fifty percent chance of that series happening.

LIneups announced for tonight's Cubs-Giants game.

The Cubs will have Soler in LF and Zobrist in RF. Those guys had better hit, because they aren't going to catch anything unless it's right to them.

I expect Rick Monday to hit a 9th inning home run in game 5 to crush the Expos dream.

I fucking hope so.

Since when does a catcher throw the ball to first to start the "around the horn" on a strikeout?

The first baseman *never* gets the ball on an around-the-horn. Because he's involved in so many plays anyway.

What the hell is this world coming to?

Jeez. Pretty clear that Rizzo pulled his foot off the bag. Clear to everybody except the umpires.
