I watched a video of the bear. It basically didn't have a front leg (just a little stump) and it's front left leg was screwed up too. When he was down on all fours, he walked on the forearm of the left leg. That's why it walked upright - at a strolling pace. This bear wasn't a danger to anything other than your birdfeeders, and it looked like it needed help.

That was really shitty. In fairness to the other parents - the article says they all laughed at the boy crying, but it looked to me like they clapped and laughed, because it appeared to them that the play was over. They didnt' know that boy was supposed to have a line.

I watched it again, even though I said I wouldn't, just to see if I interpreted it wrong the first time. I can't give her the benefit of the doubt though. This play had been rehearsed ad nauseam, I assume. She had to know his line was the last line of the play. I don't want to believe that someone would be so cruel, especially a teacher, but I know that isn't the case.

To add on to it. I know that if something like that happened to my son, it would break his heart. It would most likely cause a meltdown (like it did for this little boy) which only adds to the embarrassment this young man may be feeling. I would be left trying to explain away the teacher's actions to my kid and trying not to bad mouth her, because he has to be in her class every day and I don't want him to think she hates him.

I'd want to yell at the teacher, but I can't (or shouldn't) because she is charged with caring for my child in school every day.
