We went out on Thanksgiving, but had mashed potatoes with beef stew on Saturday night. I was in charge of the potatoes and received beaucoup compliments. Because they didn't need to know that before I mashed/whipped, I added an appalling amount of warm cream and butter.
I thought cream and butter were outlawed in NorCal?

Ha! Well, not at my house. And, this dinner was with my non-California family anyway. My parents and brother, and my wife's family all want nothing to do with California, except for my wife, daughter and me.

Good to hear. Next time I am in Bezerkley visiting my SiL, I will have to set up a secret meeting with you to get all the black market goodness that I can't get there.

Am I the only one who hates leftovers? I was particularly upset about being sick on Thursday because there was no way to avoid leftovers because I couldn't not have Thanksgiving food (per my wife and mom). I can handle turkey, but the rest leftover is pretty gross to me.

Agree in general, because I don't want the meal I just had again, but being able to convert Thanksgiving into sandwich form changes it.

Agree on sammiches. My wife made a pretty generic, but tasty turkey soup as well.

Thanksgiving leftovers are great, as long as you have gravy to bathe the dried out food.

Seconded...I'll even pass on the leftover turkey. The only leftover thing I'll eat is pizza and it's not nearly as good as it is fresh.
I would like expensive whiskey.
We only have beer & wine...

Leftover pasta is usually almost as good as fresh. Same thing with chili.

The day after brunch is part of why I love T'giving so much.

Mashed potatoes are made into patties and griddled. Toasted bread covered with turkey and a shit load of gravy. Stuffing and whatever else you want from the leftover sides (cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, my mushroom dish*).

That shit is delicious!

* - Besides carving the bird, my other contribution is a mushroom side... sliced mushrooms, scallions, thyme... sauteed in white wine until reduced, finished off with healthy dose of sour cream.

So, the 3-some was a no-go?

Yeah I'm not that adventurous. Gonna stick to the one-sausage-per-soup rule.

But what if you just watched the sausage simmer in the soup?

(The "soup" refers to Giff's wife's vagina, in case confusion was the reason for the silence.)

Hey, I shared that knowing this would happen. It was something I wanted to get off my chest and didn't really want to discuss this with people I see all the time. If you fuckers weren't hilarious, I'd hate you all, I'm sure.
