So Coach K just ruined xmas

Watching a documentary on the original Dream Team on NBA TV tonight with my niece and nephew. Enjoying it and talking to them about MJ, Bird, Magic, Chuck, etc. And then Coach K comes on the screen and says something to the effect that some kids still believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny but at some points parents have to explain to the children it is all made up.

Just what my brother-in-law wanted to deal with at 9 pm on Xmas Eve. Right after his kids had just left cookies and milk for Santa.

Tell the kids that Coach K is actually a fictitious character who in his TV show lives in another dimension on a parallel planet to earth that does not have all the good things we have. Like Santa and basic rules of justice. For example, in Coach K's world a college student-athlete can flagrantly trip other basketball players several times but still be allowed to play in all of his teams' big games.

It was also bullshit that he let MJ blackball Isiah Thomas.

But if it's any consolation, the world just gained more Duke haters.

Spin it in that direction. Duke hates Santa. And Coach K is the inspiration for the Grinch.
