Man, that sucks. He was legitimately talented. Pneumonia, reported. A common side-effect of HIV infection, FWIW.
My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Number 45 is Paul Konerko with 439.

I think that was a fairy well known non public fact. I could be wrong.

I vividly remember walking to the record store, back when it was mainly cassettes, and picking up Music from the Edge of Heaven.

I think this is my favorite GM song. Also, yeah...great fucking hair.

I discovered masturbation the year I Want Your Sex came out and abused my dong during every showing of that video. In case one was wondering why I was emotional.

Re: George Michael
Are we going to do this for every moderately successful pop star? ("we" being society at large, not just the Swamp)
Totally Kafkaesque
Re: George Michael
Is there a "this" this time that is unexpected or unprecedented?
I guess to someone else's point, I hadn't listened to Faith as a whole for years. I did a couple of times this week, and that's a pretty great pop album.

Maybe it's just the ease of Facebook, Twitter, etc., but it seems to me that we go overboard "mourning" the deaths of every moderately famous celebrity. Perhaps it was just my circle, but I'm guessing most Swampers actively mocked Michael and Wham! when they were popular in the 80s.
That said, maybe I'm just being a curmudgeon. Mourn on!

I remember when this debuted. I was 9. I turned to my dad and said "I want Tyra." He approved. However, looking back, the correct answer was Nadia.Giff wrote:I discovered masturbation the year I Want Your Sex came out and abused my dong during every showing of that video. 6 of the 9 songs on Faith charted in the top 5. Has to be one of the best %s ever, right?

In April of 1964, The Beatles had five of their songs in positions one through five on the Billboard chart. And 7 additional songs also in the top 100.Giff wrote:6 of the 9 songs on Faith charted in the top 5. Has to be one of the best %s ever, right?
