Little Hail Mary to end the half. Nice.

Just lose, Giants. Plz.

Ooof. Montgomery couldn't walk off after that. What a really gruesome tackle.

I now expect Eli to bring the Giants back.

ETA:

Alright, cool. He probably won't.

That was an excellent "play to the whistle" sequence. Clay Matthews is awesome.

Wasn't there some discussion this week here in the Swamp about how deficient the offensive line was for Green Bay? (drops mike)

I hope the Giants have a nice off season.

Absolutely - but what a f-ing bonehead move by Perkins.

And whenever Matthews (whose father was one of my all=time favourites) makes a great play, the name that flashes into Bills' fans minds is Aaron maybin.

Fuck you Russ Brandon.

I *still* think Eli had the ball with his arm going forward before Clay knocked it loose, and really don't get why FOX didn't have the guy whose job it is to talk about refereeing decisions talk about that decision...

But anyhoo, Matthews knocking over the Giants player to get the ball was pretty funny.

Never said it wasn't defensive PI. Just that it should have been offsetting penalties.

Yes, probably. But it sure seemed like the facemask was Richardson reacting to the interference. Still was a hell of a catch.

Always good when the sport most reliant on team play uses individual player stats with no context to make a comparison. We can start with the Packers had zero offensive linemen make the Pro Bowl that season and go from there.

Not to mention that NFL offenses have changed incredibly in the years since Rodgers made his first start.

Atlanta's offense is damn fun to watch. And Matt Ryan is on the "Merton Hanks All Long Neck" team...

That 99 yard drive was a thing of beauty.

And has anyone ever seen an 80+ yard penalty before?

Yeah, today's game may change it but Atlanta was getting slept on pretty hard as a serious title contender. They had one of the best regular season offenses of all time, but a few close losses turned a potential 14-2 juggernaut into an 11-5 team. I wonder if Michael Wilbon still thinks the Matt Ryan MVP candidacy is a triumph of stat nerds over people "who watch the games."

ETA: Wilbon tweeted this about Ryan after the end of the regular season.
Some of you numbers obsessed chumps need to look at sports and assess IMPACT on the game, which isn't explained solely by numbers.

Yeah it was....and Atlanta all day really exposed the lack of Earl Thomas in the Hawks secondary. My GF asked me "why can they just keep passing right over the middle?", and I said "because that's where Earl Thomas would be".

Really hope that the Hawks decide to spend some money on the O-Line this offseason. Its been the glaring weakness the last 2 seasons.

nearly every touchdown return nullified by a penalty could qualify as close to that.

I love that A-A-Ron has this second nature about getting 12 men on the field penalties against the defense he's playing.

The refs simultaneously have the presence to notice the unsportsmanlike penalty and then assess it as only 5 yards from the spot. That was kinda funny.

This reminds me a lot of the game Rodgers had at Atlanta in the same stage of his SB run. I've never seen anyone more dialed in than that.
