I'm just saying I'd be surprised if we weren't guilty of some subterfuge somewhere. In every presidency ever.
You know what you need? A lyrical sucker punch to the face.

You'd be naive to think we haven't tilted the scales in dozens, if not hundreds of elections over the decades/centuries/eons/dimensions.A_B wrote:I'm just saying I'd be surprised if we weren't guilty of some subterfuge somewhere. In every presidency ever.
It's what we do.

Right. Which is why Obama can't come hard against it. I get it. Politics.
Which is why he couldn't come out public. He apparently privately talked to Putin about it which is a point in his favor. But he was almost helpless to do more than that.

Re: 2016 Presidential Race
I'm with Joe on the bullshittedness of the idea that because the information seems to have come from Russia, anyone who reported on it is somehow to blame. That doesn't make any sense to me. While hacking is bad, information generally is not. I'm sure the same people made at Russia/wikileaks now were very happy to credit previous leaks (e.g. Edward Snowden) for exposing hidden truths in government.
If anything, the problem is either a) how we responded to the information in the leaked emails or b) that the media didn't do the same digging on their own into both campaigns. We know there was plenty of ugliness on the Republican/Trump side of things, but nobody was really able to find anything (other than the pussy comments) that had any impact.
BTW, I wonder how many people conflated Hillary's two separate email issues? I bet a lot of people thought/think that the Russians hacked her home-built State Department server, which would certainly have been a bigger deal.

Well, things are getting even more interesting.
Jeebus. I can't believe 24% (or whatever) of American adults were stupid enough to vote for this guy.

And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Re: 2016 Presidential Race
Buzzfeed has published the "Company Intelligence Report" regarding the Russians and Trump.
The phrase "perverted sexual acts" appears on the front page. And "golden showers" is on page 2.
Somehow I think this will turn out to be bullshit. But at least it will be entertaining bullshit.

I love this so, so much.
For the rest of his misbegotten life, even if he makes it through 4 years in the Oval Office, everyone who meets Trump will picture him covered in Russian hooker piss.

I just can't see piss being a blackmailable proposition.
Child fucking, cannibalism, fucking then eating the dead, or GTFO.
Russian women are dirty as fuck in bed. And Euro chicks in general are far more sexually progressive than Americans. So these sexual deviances are blah. Hopefully it destroys his marriage though.

Johnnie, Trump would be humiliated enough to nuke if someone took audio of him shitting. Its not the act, its how the offended would view participation in the act.

Yes. The golden shower stuff is awesome, but the dossier talks about what I would imagine is the far more damaging stuff about his financial interests being such that Russian blackmail makes sense.Gunpowder wrote:Uhhhh aren't a good deal of his loans from Russian banks or something like that? No. But that's why I said the golden shower stuff was awesome, the damaging I am referring to is what is more likely to impact his being compromised is his financial entanglements.Shirley wrote:You guys really think the general public will be more interested in complex financial arrangements or Trump pissing on a prostitute (or vice versa)?tennbengal wrote:Yes. Re: 2016 Presidential Race
And, to be clear, I am sure he is compromised. Either blackmail from some sort of sex thing or because he has financial interests that need to be covered based in Russia. Or both. It explains his weird approach on Russia, the RNC platform weirdness re: the Ukraine, etc. However I felt about Bush and dad, and Reagan, I never thought them compromised by a foreign power. But this incoming president? Yes, I am saying flatly, he is compromised.

I agree. Trump throughout his campaigned has flip flopped on every issue saying what people want to hear. And it won him the election. One thing he's never wavered on is his stance on Russia. He is definitely compromised.tennbengal wrote:And, to be clear, I am sure he is compromised. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll make any difference unless someone unearths a video of him with hookers.

Case closed. I'm convinced. Although didn't Trump say he met Putin and spoke with him several times before he said he never met Putin?
I also thought it was public information that Trump has loans through Russian banks. He also likely has loans from Chinese banks, which are government owned. One report is that his debt could be as high as $2 Billion, but hey, how could our President owing the Chinese government that much money become a conflict of interest, right? I guess we will know when he shows us his taxes on November 10, 2016, right? Oh, now he is going to show us his tax returns on January 20th. Oh, now he isn't going to show them at all? Shocking. Just like the information about Russian hackers he had that nobody else had, that he promised to reveal on Monday. Or the unbelievable, terrific, yuuuuge proof his investigators found proving Obama wasn't born in Hawaii... How many free passes does he get with this trick?

Nazi Germany was when the press and the people united to oppress the leader, right? Poor Donald, if only the media stopped reporting what he says and instead focused on what is in his heart.

As I've seen a few people point out on Twitter, Russia/Putin is about the only thing Trump has not criticized in his Twitter feed.degenerasian wrote:I agree. One stunning thing, to me, is that several "liberal media" outfits appear to have had these reports a while back. Yet no one published them because they could not be verified. I cannot imagine any right wing media outlet doing anything of the sort if the allegations were about any prominent Democrat.
I fear that this whole thing will backfire like the reports about Bush's National Guard service. And like the Bush National Guard thing, the conventional wisdom will be that the whole subject was inaccurate, even though, like the Bush National Guard thing, the main allegations are almost certainly true.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Yeah, it doesn't really matter if Trump or Hillary wins. They're basically the same.
