I honestly didn't expect too much out of Malcolm Brogdon in the NBA. Yes, he was a fantastic player for UVA, but I thought he epitomized a "college game". Tell that to Dwyane Wade.

There appears to be quite a mindfuck in progress in Houston.
Re: NBA 2016-17
If I hadn't just posted two videos of Malcolm Brogdon a couple of days ago, I'd be posting two from tonight when he dunked impressively on both Kyrie and LeBron.

Not sure how to embed a Vine on this board, but Deadspin has Vines of both the dunks here: http://deadspin.com/malcolm-brogdon-is- ... 1790347659

Actually, that's a lie. We should've beat the Spurs while shooting 15% from 3. It was a fun as heck game.

SMith missing 3 months isn't ideal but it will give he other guys on the roster a chance to mesh.

There should be a word for the ambivalence you feel when Derrick Rose starts heating up with crowd pleasing bad shots.

I'm a Malcolm brogdon fan cause he's local but you've got bad taste in dunks. First grayson Allen's full court sprint into a barely there dunk and now you're giving me the technically sound only slightly more athletic (longer really) finishes.

They should just play Cavs-Warriors best of 21

One other thing. Curry was not great yesterday. Disappeared for long stretches.

Just got back from seeing Isaiah Thomas go nuts in the 4th and drop 52 on the heat... But still like him better as a 6th man. Just makes no plays on the other end.

Re: NBA 2016-17
Joke aside, this Daily News article does something which is pretty common, yet still pisses me off. Describes Rose as being "AWOL" (he is not in the fucking military), and that he left "without the team's permission" ( he is a grown damn man; he needs no one's permission to travel to Chicago.). Rather than say he missed a game. People don't show up for work for all kinds of reasons w/o the media treating him like a dependent child or like property. Somehow grown-assed black men get this treatment more often, but not exclusively. Sure, it's the Daily News, but this shit is beyond old in the 21st century.

BUt...he kinda knew when his services would be needed a few months ago right?
Edit: he can totally take a day off. But when I do that I tend to tel my boss the situation.

I am not talking about Rose's actions.
I am talking about the 'journalism'; the word choices that describe his role as that of a child or a servant.

Re: NBA 2016-17
I had to read a hell of a lot of that article before I learned that he actually missed a game. The article kept saying that we "went missing before" their game. It then mentioned that he missed the shoot around. I guess I was supposed to already know that he missed the game?

He's right--this will be their masterpiece. Everything in the Dolan era has pointed to this.

Cavs have sucked donkey ass for the last 10 days but playing strong tonight. Korver looking like he's getting more comfortable.

Re: NBA 2016-17
Regular season matchups are fairly meaningless, as last year's Cavs-Warriors games certainly showed, but I'd think that Monday's game is somewhat important to the Warriors psychologically. If they lose again, they'd be going into the potential Finals trilogy with five straight losses to Cleveland, including 3 straight at Oracle. Obviously Cleveland was in the same boat going into last year's Finals but it'd still be less than ideal for the Warriors since they seem to thrive off of a feeling of invincibility. Both for good and bad, the Warriors are about as arrogant a team as I've ever seen in any sport.A_B wrote:Cavs have sucked donkey ass for the last 10 days but playing strong tonight. Re: NBA 2016-17
I mentioned it earlier in this thread, but I still get a feeling that the Warriors aren't there yet. Which is scary, or telling.
Curry's a free agent at the end of the year. They're gonna have to lose some depth to max contract him. Is there a chance he bolts?

I can say with 60% certainty if Westbrook had gone to the Knicks instead of Rose (I'm away this wasn't an either/or), I would be paying attention to the league again.

Re: NBA 2016-17
From what I've heard, his hometown Charlotte Hornets will keep some max cap space open for him, but unless he has a major blowup with Durant in the next few months, I don't think he's going anywhere. Even if the Warriors do lose some depth, you really don't need much depth to win in the playoffs, as you can play your starters heavy minutes if needed (LeBron averaged 41.7 minutes in last year's Finals; Kyrie 39.0; JR 37.3). And as Zaza and David West showed this offseason, teams like that can typically find some veterans who will take a minimum salary in exchange for a great shot at a ring.A_B wrote:I mentioned it earlier in this thread, but I still get a feeling that the Warriors aren't there yet. My semi-outlandish NBA prediction is that the next team besides the Warriors or Cavs to win an NBA title will be the Sixers. Embiid is already an All-Star caliber player, Ben Simmons will be healthy soon, Saric looks promising, and they could potentially get 2 top-10 picks in this year's draft. (They get the Lakers' pick if it's outside the top-3.) With some luck, they could have a future starting 5 of something like Dennis Smith, Malik Monk, Simmons, Saric and Embiid. Trust the process, indeed.
Re: NBA 2016-17
I bet most teams would've taken Okafor over Porzingis (and supposedly Porzingis refused to work out for Philly), but that pick is really bad in retrospect. Also, Carter-Williams bears the rare distinction of winning Rookie of the Year while also looking like a terrible pick. I also think they should've kept Jrue Holliday instead of trading him for Noel, but I'm not sure how Holliday's contract situation fit with their timetable for when they thought they could compete.mister d wrote:Which is funny because they completely fucked up atleast two of their high lottery picks.
Re: NBA 2016-17
I won't pretend I know enough to NBA draft, but in a non-minor-league sport, you can't afford to draft four consecutive inside bigs. Seems like a preposterous level of autodraft BPA-ing.
