Not Sid the Science Kid!!!
Sid, for readers not familiar with PBS children’s programming, is a preschool cartoon character. Like President Trump, Sid is orange. Unlike Trump, he is highly inquisitive.

Why the hell does heaven even have walls? I mean, if Mexicans had wings like angels do, would anyone in their right mind even consider a wall to be a viable solution?

Do we "know" Heaven has walls? Is that based on anything in the bible? Or the Pearly Gates - where does that come from?

Plus, I didn't think the vetting was that extreme. As long as you accept Jesus as the Savior, aren't you in? Even if you are Hitler?

Extreme vetting? I don't remember that part. I thought it was very simple vetting.

Of course, how else would God keep the riff-raff out? How could you have heaven without the constant visual reminder that those assholes who refused to accept Jesus can't get in? We TOLD you that you'd be judged by your maker!

Well Ken Buck makes sense as Weld County is the big ass plains county that wanted to secede from the rest of Colorado (especially those bastions of hedonism Denver and Boulder.) Beauprez is a little stranger as he is a follower of the Pope (raised as, and proud RC) but was elected from the district just south of mine that had a mass influx of tea party assholes win national and local elections for the past few cycles (you may remember the students that went on strike due to the editing of textbooks to soften the un-American "bad parts."
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

I watched a clip on cnn of Senator Cotton at a town hall getting heckled for completely ignoring a woman's question regarding what will replace the A.C.A. He was then booed again when he offered weasel words in response.

Next clip showed a women who was proud to be from Faytetteville and proud to not be a "paid protestor."

A Trump-ism has entered the vernacular. Those who disagree with the government's policies are not just "enemies of the people," they are paid to cause trouble. It's trickle-down fascism, bullying as patriotism.

Just looked in on CNN's coverage of the CPAC convention.

3 logos on the podium,'

1) Liberty Health Share which is confusing to me as a Canadian:
Liberty Healthshare is a 4th healthcare sharing ministry, which is fairly small (and growing) and has now established themselves under Gospel Light Mennonite Church Medical Aide Plan, Inc which now makes them an eligible sharing ministry under the ACA.
2) The NRA

3) Breitbart

Holy fuck - guns, God and fake news.

He's accompanied by whores and lepers, a pallet of SmartWater, giving out free health care, and wielding an AK.

A topic for another thread, but it astounds me that these reactionaries can start every hate-filled session they have with prayers to a guy who espoused charity, tolerance and certainly had no time for profiteers.

My congressman (Ken Buck; CO-4) held a telephone (smart move) town hall tonight. Obviously a more controlled environment but still irritating none the less. A women tried to ask a question about the increase in white supremacist acts (her words) with a bit of a preachy tone...the moderator cut her off and Buck said "next question" with his best Drew Rosenhaus dismissive tone. Next caller said that was rude so the moderator took his turn cutting her off and said "what's your question."

Look, I know constituents are a paIn and tend to drone on without getting to the point but you get paid to put up with this shit.

They also took three polls during the call...has Obamacare help or hurt you; is the tax code fair and does immigration need reform. They only reported the results of the tax (90-10 not fair) and immigration (58-42 immigration needs reform). Gee...I wonder what the Obamacare answer was...other than not in the GOP perceived favor.

My Congressman (Leonard Lance) is a Republican partisan hack weenie, but he has shown some balls in the past 2 days. He held a town hall last night. It booked immediately, and they put it in a bigger room with a spillover room. When 200 GOP Reps cancelled town halls, Lance added a second date on Saturday. He put up a live stream of the event. I saw the first half, and the crowd ripped into him from the get go, and he stood there and took it. Calmly answered every question, and I actually wanted to jump in to defend him at one point, when he refused to say he would vote to impeach Trump if the Russian connections proved true.*

Perusing the media-aggregator sites, Lance appeared on a number of shows this morning, discussing his town halls. He was careful and diplomatic in addressing the "fake news" narrative and all of the other GOP talking points, but on every show he made a deliberate point to acknowledge the crowd was mostly protesters, and to say the protesters were without a doubt legitimate constituents, and in no way paid. He also said Trump should present his taxes, and an investigation on the Russia shit needs to take place. It gave me a glimmer of hope.

*Lance said that as a lawyer, he views impeachment as a criminal indictment, and he won't give a definite commitment on how he would vote. He was right to say that, but the crowd went off on him. I wanted to jump in and explain that he can't definitively say how he would vote without the specific facts that will hopefully come out.

One of a handful of friends that noticed: "Hey John. You don't post very much on social media anymore. Where you been? Is everything good?"

Me: "Yup. Just turned off by it after the election."

locks down Facebook profile, nukes it

Friend: "That makes sense, I get it. But no more posting at all?"

Me: "Nope. Here's why: Twitter and Facebook are politicizing the military"

I got a retirement to work toward and a job to do. There are too many special people out there that want to derail that. Once the military comes around on social media, there's going to be a crackdown and people are going to get ratted out, I feel. I'm not losing my career over dumb bullshit like Facebook posts.

My personal stuff, no. But work computers, absolutely. When I'm on a military installation I have no expectation of privacy. Whether that's for having your vehicle inspected or having to show your ID handful of times before making a purchase at the commissary or anything. It's a police state.

Social media takes on the extended benefit of also playing into your security clearance too. Mine is good through 2026 (retirement date is 2021), so I'm covered there. But, rules could always change and a reinvestigation could happen. So I have to cover my tracks.

Pastor Greg Locke posts an angry video in response to receiving a thank you card from Planned Parenthood after someone made a donation on his name. Either this guy is as dumb as he seems, or it is a Planned Parenthood false flag mission. This guy is just begging people to donate in his name.

And right in the comments, someone linked their GoFundMe page, seeking $10,000 in donations to PP in Locke's name. Alright past the $900 mark.

Texas Rep files bill making men pay $100 for jacking it.
An attending physician must verbally review the informational booklet entitled “A Man’s Right To Know” with every male patient seeking a vasectomy, Viagra prescription, or colonoscopy.

Consent to an elective vasectomy or colonoscopy procedure, or a prescription of Viagra is voluntary and informed only if at least 24 hours have passed since the initial health care consultation for the procedure or prescription.

An attending physician must administer a medically-unnecessary digital rectal exam and magnetic resonance imagining of the rectum before administering an elective vasectomy or colonoscopy procedure, or prescribing Viagra.

Emissions outside of a woman’s vagina, or created outside of a health or medical facility, will be charged a $100 civil penalty for each emission, and will be considered an act against an unborn child, and failing to preserve the sanctity of life.

Tomi Lahren says she's pro choice on The View last week.

Today she is suspended a week because of, well I have no idea.

There was already speculation she was leaving The Blaze when her contract is up in September, so this "punishment" is just them being petty because she can probably cash in somewhere else and they're butthurt.

I'm shocked (SHOCKED!) a female millennial might like sex and therefore wouldn't be opposed to having options in case something unexpected happens.
