My wife loves it. Tastes like vinegar to me.

Yep. Had one in a jar on my counter for a while. It's definitely an interesting science experiment, if only it didn't taste like shit.

Does anyone else encounter the phenomenon where you turn on the air conditioning for the first time in months and get that weird sickly sweet, fruity smell for a while? Or maybe the previous owner left a dead oompa loompa in the vents.

Either Tampa has become hippy, or it just makes sense to put brewed things together on tap. We've got more than a few places around here with kombucha on tap.

I went to a newer Shoprite (grocery chain that are mostly crap), and they had a Kombucha bar in the back. I've never had it, and don't have any plans to ever try it.

Just texted my wife who wanted me to drop her off at mall after work so she can meet her mom/kiddos for Easter Bunny pics. I'm going to show tonight back in town (and meeting a Swamper, hopefully), so I asked "can we run home first so I can change" then followed that up with "Not for sex!". Problem was that was my mom I texted. Pretty fucking mortified right now, you guys.

and he missed meeting the swamper, who truth be told was looking forward to it but ended up gettting dragged out for drinks, then dinner out with his boss.. after which said swamper did indeed attempt to contact Giff.. failed to do so as Giff was likely onto his evening... so said swamper kept the initial plan, around 9 went to what's becoming his local when in town, and said swamper promptly bumped into one of his poker buddies from back home. beers were had. bad selfies for fb were taken.
so no sex for giff, and swamper still got beers.
swamper will be back in town week of the 8th.

It feels like the next time my wife boils water without it boiling over, it will be the first.

Also, the "word" "ketsup" appeared on the grocery list. It is not in my daughter's handwriting.

I bought a silicone cover specifically for that. It works pretty well, once you actually get her to use it.

I would think that "standing under four feet away from the stove" would prevent this problem. It does not. Ever.

I tried to remember some of the other classic misspellings just from grocery lists to offer in support in my original post, but could not. I am embarrassed by her spelling on the list, which no one other than us sees.

I'm not giving up that easily. Mine makes her same spelling mistakes on the grocery/to-do list on the fridge as well and I'm going to start noting them.

So I just got a text message from a student at my alma mater asking for a donation to the school. In the past they'd do this via direct calls and I was happy to contribute, but for some reason it just strikes me as off-putting to do this via text. Is this a rational reaction on my part?

I think it's rational to be offput. But I can see that things are going this way more and more. I used to hate it when people I knew pretty well texted me Happy Birthday. Now I prefer it.

My anger at my wife for volunteering me to take our daughter to the library to play some games on their computers/tablets is quickly being transferred to almost every other fucking parent here.
