Calling someone fat Clint Bowyer is not a way to endear yourself to the twitter feed of his official website.

I got blocked on Twitter in January by a Bay Area sportswriter for saying the Raiders weren't a very good team without Derek Carr.

Tony Grossi covered the Browns for the Cleveland Plain Dealer for almost two decades. He was removed from the beat because he inadvertently tweeted some disparaging comments about former Browns owner Randy Lerner. Supposedly the tweet was intended to be a text to a colleague.

Grossi is well known in the national football writers circle because he would give an impassioned speech against Art Modell whenever he was considered for induction into the pro football hall of fame.

Personally, I think he's an idiot with a massive axe to grind, but he has a loyal following among Browns fans in this town. And he's light-years better than Mary Kay Cabot, who covers the Browns for the Plain Dealer these days. If she reports anything, you can pretty much assume every other reporter released that news tidbit at least five hours before she does.

Here's an old Plain Dealer column explaining why he was removed from the Browns beat, and also helps explain why he hates Modell so much.

Oh, the hilarity if Marshawn would get to run it in from the two at the end of a Super Bowl against Seattle.

People from Phoenix have a very big issue with calling everything in The Valley "Phoenix," (an equivalent comparison is people from Louisville, KY demanding you pronounce the city "Loo-Vul") so the funny thing about that stadium name for me was always people going "Ugh, the stadium is in GLENDALE and this doesn't help."

I've seen this before myself with friends in Phoenix and it's funny because it's the exact opposite in Detroit where everyone regardless of what suburb they live in just tells people they're from "Detroit". I don't think that's especially rare for a lot of east coast and midwest cities (I've seen the same a lot with "Chicago" as well. Weird that people who live in "Phoenix" are so provincial but I guess that's part of living in an area that's like 50 miles x 50 miles in size.

Not sure which thread I wanted to sully with this, but since it's about Romo I chose here.

Stephen A. coming in hard with one of the dumbest fucking takes ever. Disagree with him, and he twists the logic to you being a racist because YOU'RE NOT BLACK. DON'T TELL ME HOW TO FEEL, HONKEY.

Texas thing too. In college, everyone was Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Fort Worth if they were from a suburb.

So, I have a buddy who is from Pittsburgh. He told me a funny Dan Rooney story (although this might be an Art Rooney story - I'll have to check). Apparently, my friend's father knows a guy who owns a very small piece of the Steelers. Rooney wanted to buy the guy out, but the guy wouldn't sell for the price Rooney offered. So, Rooney got him back by switching the guy's season tickets on him. His seats are now in an upper corner above the end zone. Don't fuck with the Rooneys.

Ralph Wilson and William Clay Ford were basically the same guy (and both from Detroit.). Nice guys but not good owners (if you care about winning).

Well, neither of them fucked over a city by moving a team, so they are not in Modell class.

But Wilson fired Pollian in a power struggle. Fuck him.
