So I'm on FMLA baby leave. The newborn sleeps a ton so I've been blazing, binge-watching Sons of Anarchy, and playing $1 daily fantasy baseball tournaments for the last couple of weeks. I won a $1k jackpot this evening. I should have more kids...

Congratulations! Was thinking about you since I thought you said your wife was due around the end of June. Glad to hear it sounds like everyone's doing well (especially you).

Not necessarily. My first one had some feeding issues the first three months but we kept waiting for the really tough period and it never came. Second kid ... not so much.

You haven't truly lived until you've listened to your mother-in-law destroy the toilet that's about 6 feet away from your office chair. Good times.

I have parked my car the next block over from that on many occasions. I thought I only needed to worry about getting a ticket if I don't have change for the meter.

Ha. Usually Jimmy John's. Never been in that Hooter's but it looks pretty grimy from the outside.

First search result when you search for the downtown St. Louis Hooter's Brian referenced is this headline from earlier this year: "Rapper killed in shooting outside downtown St. Louis Hooters."
So yeah, I'll stick with Jimmy John's.

I live near a Jimmy John's. It's delightful. They deliver quickly just like their commercials suggest.

And while I haven't been to Hooters ABQ, I have been to the Burqueña version called Ojos Locos. Their gimmick of wearing lingerie during a time period around Valentine's Day was delightful...with a couple exceptions.

It's better than the Pittsburgh guys. Slaw and fries are a terrible thing to put on a sandwich.

A new sandwich place opened up really close to my office where I've become a regular. Freshly sliced fries and several options for rolls. All deli meat is Boar's Head.

Slaw is acceptable on some sandwiches.

But fries on any sandwich is an abomination. This is a roundabout way of saying Primanti Brothers sandwiches are cold, soggy garbage.

If you don't eat slaw on a pulled pork sandwich, you're a monster.

Why would you want anything to get in the way of the porky goodness?

I'm firmly anti-slaw on everything. No thanks.

I'll put slaw or fries on my sandwiches. I'm no food elitest.

This reminds me. The best Cole slaw I've ever had was at the Ugly Dog Saloon in New Orleans. I had it over ten years ago and still remember it.

Just go all the way and be anti-slaw. Cabbage is slightly disguised garbage by spelling and actual garbage in practicality.

Slaw on a nice grilled dog, with a slice of bacon and some BBQ sauce. Mmmm.

BSF, I assume you never tried one of these at Carter's? Although, not sure he still had the store front when you were in Muncie.

Is there a better example of modern self-important dickheadery than the one word "unfollow" sent in a reply tweet?

On pulled pork? I'll allow slaw only if it is basic shredded cabbage and some vinegar. It adds some good texture and acid.

Primanti's blows. That damn fish sandwich is an abomination. They take good ingredients and put them together and make utter crap.

If any of you get to journey to downtown LA anytime soon get a sandwich at Langer's.

The 19 is fantastic, and has slaw.
