Heeeeeeeere we go, the roller coaster ride starts now, every game on your tv.

We start in Anfield, no Suarez, still suspended for 6 more matches.

great action so far, both teams have hit the bar in the first 12 minutes, Liverpool also had a goal called back for just being offside.

NBC's graphics dept was right on it, showing that four of his last five penalty shots were to that exact area right before the kick.

Gooners repeatedly giving up the rock in midfield, and being counterattacked by Aston Villa (props to their aggressive trapping and defense gaining those turnovers). On one, a beautiful, clearly clean lunging tackle in the box by Koscielny, bad bad call/yellow gives PK and goal for Benteke. 2-1 Villa.

Spurs stroll to victory. Not a thriller, but nice to see the new players looking decent.

My highlight of the weekend was watching Arsenal collapse at home. Villa seems good, but that was a brutal performance - even before the sending off.

And a thought about Crystal Palace - if they have to run a 40+ year old striker out there on a regular basis, they are doomed.

Oh, and Robin Van Persie is pretty good.

The bad news is that I threw out my back last night, and have to spend today on the couch instead of going in to work.

The good news is that I get to watch Newcastle today.

The bad news is that I get to watch Newcastle's defense. Nearly gave up a comedy goal two minutes in.

Edit: Ah, there we go. Normal service has been restored.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

sissoko had the best seat in the house for that goal for all he was worth on that score.

Really impressed with the NBC coverage (not Kyle Martino though). Just nice camera work. Good angles. I compared to the DC United-Montreal coverage that night. The EPL camera angles are just better than what we get in the MLS.

Does NBC have anything to do with the actual filming or broadcast? I thought they just got an international feed - though I don't know who produces it.

Q. What time does the City v Newcastle game kick off?
A. Every 15 minutes.

cardiff city 3-2 man city.

who saw that comin'? certainly not pelligrini. not sure it was about citeh looking ahead to the next match cause they've got hull. maybe they thought the season hadn't really started yet (i'm putting the preseason match against newcastle in that mix)

The writer doing the Guardian's minute-by-minute report kept mentioning that Mourinho teams NEVER drop points like this. Maybe right...

And Spurs have had an easy couple of fixtures, but they look rock solid defensively. Once they get their front line set up, they will be a danger in the league. Swansea were never a threat to score today.
