Line of the night from the roast of James Franco, from Natasha Legerro to Bill Hader (SNL). "Bill Hader is this generations Phil Hartman, hopefully".

Hilarious. And I only vaguely knew who the fuck James Franco is. Andy Samberg was genius, Jeffrey Ross his usual wonderful, everyone was outstanding.

The crazy thing is that the vast majority of non-Muslims in the west have no idea... they see a homogeneous mass. Which makes no sense considering the three main groupings of Christianity as well as the hundreds of subsects.

And to your last point, EVERYBODY knows that there's only one God. The key is in worshipping him in the 100% precisely correct way.

And blowing up those who do not do so.

I don't think I've ever seen a whole James Franco movie. I made it through 15 minutes of Poineapple Express. Last night's roast didn't have a dud on the dais. Everyone killed it. Whoever wrote jokes for Jonah Hilll even made him seem funny.

Marc Maron recently talked about the Comedy Central Roasts. He said they edit the hell out of it, as the majority of the jokes bomb. He said that even comedians who seemed horrible in person look great in the final edit. They are fun to watch, though.

In Australian sports there is a concept called "Mad Monday". Basically it is a "league wide day of debauchery". Players just go out and get ripped after the last game of the season.

Why do I know this...well google "Mad Monday Blake Johnston"
For additional Mad Monday knowledge "Mad Monday Joel Monaghan"

Oh and the league CEO's response to Blake Johnston incident did not help (uncontrolled laughter).

I just had a request to order a left-handed mouse for one of our users.

When I asked why a user needed a left-handed mouse, I was told the user wants to be able to use two mice at the same time.

When I asked why the user needed to use two mice at the same time, I was told the user has wrist problems and wants to have a left-handed mouse and a right-handed mouse so he can switch off whenever his wrist gets sore.

This user is rather unique in that he wears a Breathe Right strip when working in the office.

And apparently today, he's wearing a bright orange Hawaiian-style shirt and a bandana.

Sometimes, this job is great.

Why not just take an ordinary mouse and set it up as leftie in the Control Panel? I've been using a regular Microsoft mouse left-handed for years. I'm actually right-handed (very) but started using a mouse leftie for convenience. It takes about two seconds of getting used to.

Good. Because the answer is "you can switch left/right yourself easily".

That's how I started using one exclusively leftie. I used to change back and forth right/left every week or so. Just to distribute usage. I don't have weak wrists or anything; I just wanted the brain/body hand/eye balance. And if (like me) you have to take a lot of notes at work, having that freed-up extra square foot or two of space on the right side of a desk is must.

I picked that up from an old dotcom boss of mine who was constantly on the phone (rightie) while internetting.

So you'd switch the button mappings so that "right-click" is now "left-cilck?" Is that preferable to just keeping it as is? It seems like if you're learning a new hand, you may as well keep the buttons as defined so left and right are always left and right.

Random opinion:

In the auto-sig of one's e-mail, it makes sense for some people to include a reference to their education degree, particularly if it is important for the reader to rely on the sender's having particular education. I'd include, DDS or MD or JD, here. But, for one to note that they have an MBA - I think it looks stupid and just makes them look either pompous or insecure, or both.

And if you're sending an email in the context of your job, I'm not sure you really need the DDS, JD, or MD either, as they are prereqs. Everyone has them.

But yeah, MBA is NOT a title-worthy degree.

What I ended up settling on was just moving the mouse over to the other side of the keyboard. If you're looking at my mouse, the main left side is under my leftie fuckoff finger and the right side (context menus, etc) is for my leftie index finger. I didn't bother changing the hardware setup. Works like a charm for me. Then again, decades of playing guitar probably facilitated that considerably. Even still, the adjustment is simple. Try it sometime. Really.

It works particularly well if you use a "Mouse Gestures" extension for your browser.

I usually get so wasted on cheap beers at the marina (buckets of Pacifico for $10 or cheaper) during the day that staying out past 10 p.m. is pretty much impossible.

Actually last time I was there (March), it was five Pacificos for 100 pesos, which was roughly $7 and change at the time I think. Can't beat that. Nice view of the sweet ass yachts too.

We went the all-inclusive route, so we'd get nice and lathered at the pool, then go make fools of ourselves downtown afterwards. Definitely a great time, but I am going to need about 10 days to get my body and mind back to normal.

I'm a righty who set up my first system with a mouse so I could use it with my left had simply due to how the space worked in my office. Never had a problem. Didn't know you could reconfigure a mouse -- I'm just using it as it is. When my daughters use my computer they have no problem switching to a lefty mouse. I'm pretty fluent when I use their computer which has the mouse on the right-hand side.
