Three weeks left until Marvin Lewis is gone. He was hired the same month this site began, by the way...

Why wait for the game? I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me what happened on that Brady fumble in the AFCC last year.

It is amazing that the Bills are 7-6. I saw them opening week and figured they'd be lucky to get 5 wins this year. If the Pats need the win next week, they will beat the Bills by 35 points.

If Detroit’s white over blue was my favorite new set of the year, what the Lions have on tonight are probably my least favorite, color rush or not. Ugh.

I wouldn't trust John Fox to develop a photo of a quarterback.

Needed the Packers to win today to help the Lions a little, so of course that's not going to happen. On the bright side, watching the Packers and Rodgers step on their dicks to be eliminated before the Lions is not horrible.

Also, that Browns at Bears game next week is likely going to determine if Cleveland goes 0-16. Browns fans looking for a glimmer of hope might be forced to root for Pittsburgh here for the next four hours hoping that Pittsburgh is resting their starters Week 17.

The Bears are 0-7 as favorites in games coached by John Fox.

A lot of fun watching Cutler continually keep the Bills' playoff hopes alive.
He sucks so bad!
Speaking of which - the game was handled by the single worst broadcast team I have ever heard (and I go back to early Dierdorf days).
Jay Feely and Beth Mowins. She may be a trailblazer, but 3+ hours of her voice and inanities was enough to send me to the liquor cabinet very early today.
Simply the worst team. Feely's level of insight was of the "this is a big play" variety, while she seemed to have some sort of nervous tic that caused her to guffaw constantly.
But man - Cutler...

That rule is horseshit anyway - once he has possession - which he clearly did - and breaks the plane of the goal line, it's a TD. Isn;t it? It is with a run.

yeah, it's a dumb rule, you have to survive the ground and get up humping the ball.

NFL is so biased against the Patriots if the Steelers were playing a different team that would have been a double incompletion and they called him the deflator because he was on a big diet SMDH us against the world.
Re: Week 15 - (Space Reserved for Probable Controversial PIT-NE Thing)
I'm not totally convinced that the ball was ever trapped, but there's one big talking point that I keep coming back to, and that's that earlier this week, the Yankees acquired Giancarlo Stanton for a bag of balls.

hmm a challenge ... is this a Raiders catch? Defender tackles receiver, ball hits ground.

He was still completing the action of the catch so not a runner. Therefore breaking the plane isn't in play. Similar plays happen all the time, this is just controversial because of the nature of the game and where it occurred. There was a very similar play with Gronk in the Bills game and it was called incomplete no controversy because it was a 3rd down near mid-field.
They could add more specifics about "control" but then how long does the ball need to be held to be controlled? There'd be a LOT more fumbles on those plays that the receiver has the ball for a moment and then has it jarred loose by a hit or a hand and is currently ruled incomplete.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

So will this be the lasting image of the 2017 season?

According to the way the rule is being interpreted lately, yes.
I do think it is a dumb rule because I can apply one simple bit of logic to it: would I be aggrieved if it was my team that it went against even though it may have been technically correct. If you can say yes, it's probably a rule that needs to be looked at in the offseason. Spirit vs. Letter yadda yadda.
(I do happen to think a knee down and a lunge constitutes a football move, but who am I? I wanted the field to open up like in the Dark KNight for that game.)

OK? In those cases a defender would have made a play that caused it. That's cool. Fumble free for all!
