I did it for the Swampcrash signups thread but I remember it acted weird within the thread - just publish it and then get a shareable link to paste here

It really screws up the scrolling on the website when embedded.
Hold on, I'm trying to see if Jack London ever gets this fire built or not.

I think I did that?

Also, I assume we have a massive audience of well over 18 people here, so if anyone wants to grab that last spot, its still there.
Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick ***1-8 DAVE in SEA***
Embedded files break the threads. It will auto go to the embedded file.

Hi friend!
While that certainly seemed to be the case in the past, the Swamp was recently upgraded to phpBB 3.X and the problem you describe no longer appears to be an issue in the new software. If you or anyone else is encountering a problem with the sheet I embedded, please let me know and I'll happily edit my post!

That's the joke.
Please don't make me go back to my notes from where we watched the movie in class and the teacher gave us the theory that one of the themes of the movie are commercialization of society in the early 1980's and how it related to the political theory differences between Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton.

Tough call between London Calling and Sandinista. Both are classics.Pruitt wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2018 12:33 pmWinner so far.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2018 11:57 am In honor of #InternationalClashDay (yesterday)....I'll go with:

All of them are classics, but the correct choice is whichever Rudy Can't Fail is on.

I have pretty much since the day it came out that if "Sandinista" was edited down to a double album, it would be as great as "London Calling." As it is, there's a number of filler experiments that keep it from being as great.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2018 1:37 pm

However, "Sandinista" is still one of my top 20 of all time.

Got a few in mind, but with my mid pack, I don't think the Stones are getting back to me.
At 9th overall, BSF selects:
The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed (1969)
Commence arguing if this should be Exile or Beggar's Banquet or that the Stones are sellouts and overplayed. Gimmie Shelter easily cracks my top 5 favorite rock songs of all time. Fun fact, this album knocked Abbey Road from the #1 spot on the Billboard UK charts. Neat.

It happens to me in every draft. The second I think a selection might have a chance to drop to me, they are taken with the next pick.
well this is gonna be someone's new signature - bronto

Were you going Let it Bleed too or different Stones album?

Probably Exile, but Let it Bleed was the album that turned me onto them (I'm a late bloomer when it comes to the Stones).

I'm considering a short list of LPs for my pending pick.

Can't remember if it was Hot Rocks or Get Yer Ya Ya's Out. I'm pretty sure my brother and I started asking our parents about Stones LPs once Some Girls came out in the late 70s. Shattered was a big'un...

Well, I was going to take the Stones, but I'm going early musical influences. I know there are probably better albums according to critics, both professional and Swamp based, but the pick is

In the future, I think an album draft would be fun. No limit on the artist.

Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick ***1-11 NONLINEAR***
This one was actually a lot more difficult, because despite his prolific career... maybe because of just how much he put out over the course of his career, it's difficult to find an album that captures a solid range of his songs. Especially when you consider that his "live" album is probably one of his most influential (and the follow-up is often right there in the mix, too.)
Interesting tie-in to Rush's selection, because I know at least It Ain't Me Babe and a few others were traded with Bob Dylan.
Mr. D, would Live at Folsom Prison bounced me out of the draft?
Also, if I had to do this outside of a draft with parameters, I would 1000/1000 go with

Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick ***1-12 ENOCHROOT***
I’m going with R.E.M. since the Floyd and the Stones are off the board. I’d be tempted to go with the Byrds or even the Flying Burrito Bros, but they were legit before my time. Instead I’ll go with the band that showed clear influence from those two groups.
I chose Life’s Rich Pageant, because this was their first effort where their murkiness was exchanged for a more straight forward, yet still eclectic collection of songs. Not to mention, this was at a time in my life where I was realizing that I could get laid *and* give a shit about the world.
