Yeah it is. If you’ve never listened to Workbook by Bob Mould, give it a listen.

Copper Blue is great to be sure, but the Beaster EP is even better. (I doubt EPs would be eligible for this exercise and even if they were a full-length is probably the way to go, but Beaster blows Copper Blue out of the water. JC Auto is an all-time favorite song.)

Check out Workbook or Black Sheets of Rain. Bob Mould is a damn genius.

Only half kidding when I say that if I could fashion my own Mariah Carey greatest hits record, and select it legally, I'd have drafted it already.

govmentchedda wrote: Wed Feb 28, 2018 11:12 am Same. "You Were Right", the Built to Spill song on my album choice basically steals lines from a bunch of prior songs. "You were wrong when you said...", "You were right when you said...". Never knew where "manic depression's a frustrated mess" came from until listening to BFJ's Jimi Hendrix choice.
You were right when you said all that glitters isn't gold -- ??
You were right when you said all we are is dust in the wind -- Kansas
You were right when you said we're all just bricks in the wall -- Pink Floyd
And when you said manic depression's a frustrated mess -- Hendrix

You were right when you said you can't always get what you want -- Stones
You were right when you said it's a hard rain's gonna fall -- Dylan
You were right when you said were still running against the wind -- Seger
Life goes on long after the thrill of living is gone -- Mellencamp (Cougar)
You were right when you said this is the end -- Doors

I can't figure out the glitters is gold one. A google search tuns up a song by a country artist named Dan Seals:

Any of you guys with country chops know this song? It's very sweet, but the hook doesn't make me say "Oh, yeah, THAT song."

I mean I'm not touching Mariah Carey (particularly after Derek Jeter had his turn), but I probably would've gone with a Tears for Fears greatest hits. Pretty sure Jeter never tagged Roland Orzabal. Maybe Curt Smith though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
