I’m sure this album wouldn’t be taken at anytime, but I need to have this in my cabin. To me, there isn’t a weak track on here. Great lyrics and great musicianship.

Every once in a while a band comes along that produces an LP that doesn’t necessarily cross genres, but rather bends them. This is one of those records.

Opening track is perfectly placed.

Right away everybody, regardless of what music you listen to, so long as you listen to it for the same reasons, can relate to the sentiments implied here:
I'm feelin' rough I'm feelin' raw I'm in the prime of my life
Let's make some music make some money find some models for wives
I'll move to Paris, shoot some heroin and fuck with the stars
You man the island and the cocaine and the elegant cars

This is our decision to live fast and die young.
We've got the vision, now let's have some fun.
Yeah it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

Forget about our mothers and our friends
We were fated to pretend.
Fucking fantastic choice.

Was jamming one of their new songs and thought how that particular song is probably top 10 for me, particularly for the verses just shared.

Really surprised this one is still on the board. Kinda similar to my thoughts on Foo Fighters, in my opinion, this band has gotten progressively worse with each album. That being said, this debut is a damn classic.

The lack of Otis Redding on this list needs to be rectified post haste.

They can be so insufferable, but they've penned some amazing songs throughout the years. Seeing them live last fall helped me appreciate a few of the ones from newer albums that I hadn't liked before.

This is a great pick. Straight out of Jeff Magnum’s mind at times it seems. Also, ‘Tunnels’ evokes images of Talking Heads’ ‘Nothing but Flowers’, or even David Bowies’ ‘Heroes’.

I’ve seen them a handful of times, notably at ACL in ‘07, split ticket with Spoon at Merriweather in ‘10, and at Jazz Fest in ‘11.

I think Win Butler lost his way a bit as he honed his triple double scoring efforts at all those NBA celebrity all star games.

Absolutely. Butler is indie Cobain if he'd died after either Neon Bible or The Suburbs depending on your taste.

Arcade Fire - McGill students! Agree that they've gone downhill though.

And Otis Redding! One of the great things about Spotify is the nearly 5 hours of Otis live at the Whiskey A Go Go!

And it goes without saying, that the band is ridiculously great.

The shift from whimsical imagery to dance happened on Reflektor, so I’d say The Suburbs is a good cut-off.

I’m just remembering the fact that Google commissioned a group to create an interactive video in HTML5, called The Wilderness Downtown, to the soundtrack of ‘We Used to Wait’, released around the end of August, 2010. That was right around the time I was having my bachelor party ‘week’ down in Pass-A-Grille, FL. A few friends on the IT side of my persona were trying to get at the source code of the video. Wild times.

Takk is an interesting choice for Sigur Ros (granted, it's PDX's choice and no one else's).

Ágætis byrjun would be the one the hipsters/cool kids would select and ( ) is the probably the most well-known and "popular". Personally I think Takk is wicked underrated.

Well, a fairer representation would be to take out minutes where it can reasonably be expected that people are sleeping.

Pretty sure my audacity to wait until 11am on a Monday after the last pick was at 11:55 on a Friday night is skewing my average a bit,

Just glancing, if you're not counting weekends and the middle of the damn night during the week, I'm averaging about 2.5 hours. If you're bored, I've got a great list of albums for you to pass the time.

That one hurt, but there have been three other occasions when the prior pick was made early evening East coast time and you didn't make your pick until late morning the next day.

To your credit, you took 2 minutes once, and a little over 1/2 hour one other time. All others have been well over 2 hours.

Gotta make sure I plan this next work trip around my next pick. Wouldn't want to make it hard on anyone.

(In all honesty, I'm astonished about how well this has progressed given our other attempts at drafts.)

((Any interest in someone putting together an alphabetical list of artists taken so far? That spreadsheet is a lot of info to absorb and we're getting into my not being able to remember 150 picks territory.))
