Re: Gunpowder's Gold Star Trivia
I racked my brain trying to think of people who are nothing but spot up shooters during the game last night and couldn't come up with anyone that fit the bill. Then I read deadspin and was reminded
....JJ Redick?

Finally. 66th on the active scorers list, 0 regular season dunks.
But don't tell that to the Hawks. Or Dominique.

I was really hoping that someone would guess Jose Calderon (3 dunks):

Re: Gunpowder's Gold Star Trivia
I bought and brought Triple Decker Trivia with me on vacation last week because the author is one my favorite crossword creators, and it's this group of insanely difficult but really fun puzzles that I think some of you might enjoy.
You're given four sets of four questions that each have some sort of common bond. It might involve wordplay or a fact or trait that they all share. The commonalities between the 4 sets ALSO have a common bond and that's your final answer to each puzzle.
I tried about 25 of these already and only solved 3. Here's an example of one I finished - see if you can fill in the blanks for each question but ulitmately, what's the final final connection?:
A1 - What British/American band won the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest with "Love Shine a Light" but is better known for their 1985 hit "Walking on Sunshine"?
A2 - What annual awards bestowed at the World Science Fiction Convention are named in honor of sci-fi editor and magazine publisher Gernsback?
A3 - The title character of what 1950 James Stewart movie is a 6' 3 1/2" invisible rabbit?
A4 - What British royal is the third child and second son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip?
B1 - What epistle writer is traditionally regarded as the author of over a dozen of the 27 books of the New Testament?
B2 - What author, explorer, and spy was a favorite of Queen Elizabeth I but was executed for treason by her successor James I?
B3 - The Simpsons reside at 742 Evergreen Terrace in what fictional town?
B4 - "More than a Feeling" and "Amanda" are hit songs by what rock band?
C1 - What metallic element with atomic number 27 was named after a German word for a goblin?
C2 - In November 2012, Psy's "Gangnam Style" supplanted the video for what Justin Bieber hit as the most watched clip on YouTube?
C3 - The Aswan High Dam dams what major river?
C4 - Elena Delle Donne was named the 2015 WNBA MVP while playing for what Chicago team?
D1 - The 2013 film Ender's Game was based on a novel of the same name by what author?
D2 - The principal axes of an aircraft are roll, yaw, and what axis where the nose tips up or down?
D3 - A question mark features prominently in the logo for what line of jeans popularized in the 1980s?
D4 - What rapper recorded the acclaimed album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy during a self-imposed exile following the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards?
As you can see, the questions come from all over the place, which is great because you may not need to get them all to actually find the connections. On this one, I had a pretty good idea what I was looking at while I still in the middle of group A. You might too.
I'll post one that I couldn't come close to solving later and you can help out. I'd post them all but go buy the book.

And I have 3/4 of D and can't get a connection, even with the probable overall connection in mind, so I stink.

Yep. Probably a bit of a cheat move since they divide it into 1,000 units, but it is the Kuwaiti dinar.
