I've been listening to a lot of the Hold Steady lately too. Good stuff. My wife teases me by saying Craig Finn sounds like Randy Newman.

I started to write up a different, older and much more popular group but couldn't pull the trigger. This adds more of a different sound and (to my knowledge) none of the members are massive, insufferable dickheads ...

I know nobody is going to take this album, but I don't want to leave it out of the cabin. Also, my youngest LOVES this record and sings along to every song with me. If you are a fan of Wilco/Uncle Tup/Drive By Truckers etc. I think you would enjoy this album also.

I love that album. Easily my favorite by them. I've seen the Bottle Rockets a couple times and they are a fun show. Did you know that Brian Henneman (leader of the Bottle Rockets) got his start as the guitar tech roadie for Uncle Tupelo? He also played all the lead guitar on the first Wilco album, "A.M."

Wouldn't have ever picked it, but OMG yes. And they opened for my next pick at a show in Orlando.

I know they're Ivy, and prep, and Graceland derivative. I don't care. I love them. Pretty sure I love all their albums equally, but I'll take this one.

I saw Green Day, The Offspring, and Oasis go off this round, so I take it we’re at the spot where we take 90s albums that are popular and we just like. So here the album I probably had sex to the most during that era, the pinnacle of 90s girl groups:

I forgot my phone at home so I'm not able to see what's off the board so can you just let me know if these are off and if I have to re-pick? I'll go one at a time...

My friend dropped that cassette tape on the bus one day and another kid picked it up and yelled out, "Hey, someone lost a Jim Crotch tape" and I've pretty much been laughing about that continuously ever since.
No opinion on the music.
he’s a fixbking cyborg or some shit. The
holy fuckbAllZ, what a ducking nightmare. Holy shot. Just, fuck. The
Mastodon, Leviathan. Moby Dick-themed concept album from the torchbearers of post-Tool progressive metal. (And inspiration for my largest visible tattoo.)
Underworld, Dubnobasswithmyheadman. This draft be sorely lacking in electronic.
I'm pretty heavy on Soul, but this guy's too good to stay unselected. While more people might like I'm Still in Love With You, I'm going to go with his first of his two albums he released in 1972.
