Never in a million years would I have believed you if you'd said MI would win 3 rock fights to get to the Final Four. I don't know if people understand how bizarre this is for long-time MI fans. But certainly under Beilein, D has NEVER been a positive thing.

They hit 4 from 3pt and still won last night.

(And the hockey team won and has a shot at the Frozen Four if they can get past a very stout Terriers team today.)

Great fucking spring break, regardless of how it all turns out.

Sister Jean fatigue is a real thing. Though I guess it goes to show that even elderly nuns are as susceptible to becoming media whores as much as any Kardashian sister.

It’s virtually guaranteed that any 90-something white person is going to have terrible takes on the NBA.

it would have been about 10000x more noteworthy had she said players should get paid

Eh, whether you're 98 or 18 if you're putting yourself out there in the media and firing up hot takes, then you deserve whatever is coming your way.

Well, I wouldn't characterize their opinions as hot takes, nor would I conflate a life or death serious public health issue with a stupid basketball game, so other than that the analogy fits I guess.

I don't see an issue with the quote given who it came from. If she were some cute little old AD, it would be different.

I just have Sister Jean fatigue. I admit it. I'm sure she has all kinds of retrograde opinions even beyond marrying a God that doesn't exist, so I'll take my cynicism elsewhere for the time being.

But Satan help us all if Loyola somehow wins this thing. You'll find me in a bunker somewhere.

I get very triggered by anti-NBA hot takes but this is where I land. I’d be a bit more annoyed if she were a nun from Villanova or Gonzaga or some other Catholic hoops power but between her age and role, I don’t care.

I’m going to view it as a pure-hearted “these kids play for the love of the school” type deal versus the standard anti-NBA nonsense. She reminds me of my grandmother if my grandmother were nicer.

999 times out of 1,000 that would be my stance as well. This is the one and it's all because of her (well, actually the media really, but still).

Even if you take the cynical approach, she's raised a shit-ton of money for the university on top of what they're already making on the tourney.

She had a fucking press conference just a few hours ago. I'm sure she could have declined, but she's enjoying the attention. Good for her, but let's not pretend that she's somehow a reluctant participant in all this.

the only pretending is believing there isn't a medium between shunning media coverage and going all kardashian

Wright runs the closest thing to an NBA offense of any big-time college coach. Tonight it seemed like just about every shot was at the rim or behind the arc. The passes Nova was making from under the rim to the opposite corner for an open 3 is a play that guys like Ginobili and LeBron have pioneered and perfected but it's not an action I've seen much of in the college game.
