Love Margo since I first heard Caution Horses in a record store in like 1990. Her voice is really like buttah.

Lou Reed said their version of Sweet Jane was the best of all.

You're getting eerily close to an album I almost took last round.
I would've gone Trinity Sessions here, but that's just personal preference.

I went in not sure which of the first two albums I was going to pick but after multiple listens of both the standard choice is the right one ...

I had dinner with her last summer. Her husband's a friend of a friend, and they live up north near the golf course where we had our weekend long golf clinic.
She is a real sweetheart.

Dammit, D. On my list too. Was going to pick Our Love to Admire.

Another of my selections that probably nobody but me would ever pick. Austin stalwart, Joe Ely. Lord of the Highway. Joe has been around awhile, and shared a stage with everybody from The Clash to Willie Nelson.

Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick - DIS (296th)
I re-listened. The best parts are great but maybe its a little ... theatrical? Overly dramatic (even for them)? Not sure.

Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick - DIS (296th)
It's definitely a change of direction from their earlier stuff.

Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick - DIS (296th)
Not sure I've ever listened to an Interpol album all the way through. Nor could I maybe even name a song of theirs.
well this is gonna be someone's new signature - bronto
Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick - DIS (296th)
If you're looking to, start at the very beginning of Turn on the Bright Lights and roll through chronologically. For the most part, they do a very nice job sequencing their albums.

Hate the man, love the music.
Lauryn Hill co-wrote my favorite song on the record. So that's neat.

Another hip-hop artist I should’ve taken instead of Snoop.
My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Number 45 is Paul Konerko with 439.
Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick - BSF (297th)
Billy Bragg. Because of this album and how perfect it is.

Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick - BSF (297th)
These are Woodie Guthrie’s songs, sung by Billy Bragg with Wilco backing him as his band.
I mean, we previously allowed The Band after Bob Dylan was selected...

This.
though I think the G. Harrison outside of the Beatles is going a tad too far.

Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick - BSF (297th)
Had it not been explicitly allowed (prior to the pick), I might have agreed.
I felt aswirl with warm secretions.
Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick - BSF (297th)
A band previously selected is right on the cover credited as the artist. Nothing means anything anymore.

Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick - BSF (297th)
But that band's name wasn't even on the album cover of their own album, so it's all even now.
My gall is sufficiently mitigated. Thank you for your concern.

9/15 is less than half (yes I know it's also more than half)?

Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick - BSF (297th)
Jeff Tweedy lead vocals (2, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14)
backing is bull shit as then someone could have selected We Are The World and blown up 3/4 of the draft.

All that matters is who sings lead on California Stars.

I guess this means I can't pick the Lil Sebastian Benefit Album either.
My gall is sufficiently mitigated. Thank you for your concern.
Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick - BSF (297th)
George Harrison does sing lead on Beatles albums you know. He even wrote some of the tunes.

Re: Swamp Album Draft: Current Pick - RUSH (298th)
More for Harrison's guitar sound than his vocals really, as his sound was integral to the Beatles sound.
Mermaid Avenue is a Billy Bragg / Woody Guthrie album, Wilco just is there to add some twang.
Under protest, I'll select Bill Evans' Explorations. Unless his playing with Miles Davis disqualifies him.
