NLDS

Post by Weatherfrog »

About to jump in the car and drive to Atlanta for Game one of the NLDS.

Super pumped. Kershaw v. Medlin. Should be awesome.

I have never been to a playoff game. Pumped.

Go Dodgers!

Whatever you do, please do not do anything to offend the Braves' delicate psyches. They don't really react well to any perceived slights. You might get a ball thrown at your head.

Who invited Bad AJ?

6th inning and Cardinals batters have yet to strike out.

You know he's rooting for the Cardinals, but it's hard to tell. Unlike Buck and McCarver.

I've always liked Jim Kaat too. One of the rare Yankees announcers who was not total garbage. This team is so much better than the other TBS crews (and I like Ron Darling, except he talks too much).

ETA: I don't know that the Yanks fired Kaat, so I took that out.

I think the Umps should have ruled that an infield fly. Byrd out, two free outs as well.

That stupid war chant is the stupidest thing in the history of stupid. Most of their fans probably can't wait to get back to not caring about baseball.

So, got to see Kershaw throw the ball. It was awesome. He's so good.

We sat next to Dodger bullpen. Watching Brian Wilson warm up was definitely one of the highlights. Dude throws so mean. I don't get how those catchers avoid breaking their hands.

Braves relief pitchers are one of, if not the, best units in baseball. If Dodgers can't take a lead into the 7th, there is no way they can win.

If it doesn't work out we still have Greinke on regular rest. I like our chances better in this scenario than in one which involves Nolasco (and no Greinke).

Me, too. But, let's face it. We're not rooting for the Braves. We're rooting against the Dodgers.

Sorry, Keg. But, if the Dodgers do win it all, at least I'll feel good for you. You've suffered with them for awhile.

So, does Greinke pitch next game win or lose? I'm not sure I like Kersh on short rest. He looks off. Lots of slow low pitches. Still no earned runs though.

Just friggin' around on B-R for a bit, recalled that a few years ago the Dodgers and Cardinals were .500 against each other historically. If you go all the way back to the beginning of time, the Cards have won about 30 more games. But since the Dodgers moved to LA, the Cardinals and Dodgers have played 669 times. The Cardinals have a one game advantage 335-334.

I am too lazy to do my own research but I recently read that if you include the post-season, the Dodgers are up 1,018 - 1,016.
