Troops won't have Christmas trees this year thanks to Trump administration regulations. “Refusing to deliver donated Christmas trees to soldiers serving abroad is straight out of the Grinch’s playbook and flies in the face of Christmas spirit,” Schumer said in a press release. “It is tragically un-American that this change was made right before Christmas, with little notice. That is why I am asking the federal bureaucracies to immediately come together to figure out how to get these trees back on Santa’s sleigh and delivered to our troops abroad before Christmas.”

The dudes of indeterminate ethnic background who run my bagel place quite vehemently replied to my parting “Happy Holidays” with “MERRY CHRISTMAS!”

To all of the people that hang out here, a very Merry Christmas to you all and a Happy New Year. We might all throw insults and argue 364 days a year, but at the end of the day, this community is a great way to reach out and talk to people all over the world and share your passions and the things that give you joy. To all of you, from all of me, have a great day tomorrow.

With the dominant majority culture of a powerful country whining about mistreatment and injustice... how could Trump's election have been a surprise?

Wish I could have taken the picture - a whole bunch of very orthodox Jews walking past that aisle as they prepare for the pre-Yom Kippur feast.

It'd appear to me a campaign slogan the Democrats could run on this fall would be that the real war on Christmas is Trump's tariffs on imported Chinese goods (explained to the public that all it does is pass the increased cost of goods on to those buying presents)..

That's too hard to understand for MAGAts. Need some kind of racist hook or way to dumb it down to their level.

I'm ready to enlist too. There were a couple people in our neighborhood putting their outside displays up last Saturday. And our neighbor has their tree up already.

For over a year I sang Silent Night to my son as I rocked him to sleep every night.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

It may help that Silent Night is one of the easiest songs to sing if you can't sing worth a damn.

I guess the Hallmark Movie Channel is not available north of the 49th parallel (metaphorically speaking).

But the Hallmark classics all make it on the air up here... and she is addicted.

We’re decorating the tree today, which means I drink some eggnog. The supermarkets around here have had ‘nog out for weeks, and when I checked out the display this morning at my normal shopping location, over 1/2 of the cartons had expired on 11/24.

I looked for eggnog at Trader Joe's two days ago and they were out. Coincidentally, the guy in front of me in the checkout line asked why they didn't have any. The checkout guy answered that more would be in in a couple days, adding, "I don't know what you folks see in that stuff, but we can't keep it on the shelves."
Personally I've now switched from milk to eggnog, to add to my morning coffee. I won't switch back until the last of the season's eggnog is gone.

In Quebec, they call eggnog "lait de poule" - literally "Hen Milk."
