Graham is now one of Trump's most vocal and ardant supporters.

Let's also remember, Graham came to true power and prominence as one of Gingrich's back benchers that helped lead the impeachment of Clinton, peddling bullshit David Brock-juiced conspiracy theories.

Fuck that guy.

So this random female prosecutor is asking her questions on behalf of the GOP? Like...wtf? That's insane.
S'what I'm saying!!

They don't want to be on camera "doubting" this woman, because they're fucking cowards and don't want another Anita Hill blowback.

But it's just fucking horrible given the current climate. Horrible.
Also, a prosecutor is a weird choice, since she's being asked to do the opposite of what she normally does.
I had the same thought while watching this. Just on optics alone, here is a PROSECUTOR going after a (alleged) sexual assault victim while 11 overstuffed or overaged very white men looked on from front row seats.

Kavanaugh is done.

Almost all “anti-Trump” Republicans, including Graham, only opposed Trump because they didn’t think he could win. They agree with the substance, if not the style, of virtually every thing he does.

Not as toxic as admitting a mistake. They will lie, blame the Dems for conspiring to hire actors to make allegations, and they won't lose a voter. Republican voters will believe this was the Dems playing dirty and trying to obstruct Trump from putting a Justice on the bench. Meanwhile, the GOP were playing fair by not giving Garland a hearing.

God damn it to hell.

But don't the upcoming elections influence things?

Like I know that these assholes would rather break bread with a Black man than admit a mistake, but couldn't they throw Kavanaugh out and say that they had no idea about any of this? That if they did know, he never would have been nominated?

Wouldn;t that save them some votes?

The can't really say they didn't know about it when they came up with the support letter IMMEDIATELY after the story broke. They knew, though it wasn't going to matter ad proceeded to try spin control when it broke.

And at this point it isn't about them losing votes. That will likely be negligible. It's about the other side getting everyone motivated to overtake those votes.

If they move forward and confirm him, they piss off every female this side of 1963.

If they yank the nomination, they piss off the knuckle-draggers. So what. They'll never vote for a Democrat anyway.

Yup. We’re less than two years from a presidential election where the majority of white women voted for an accused rapist who had admitted to sexual assault on tape.

Eh, doesn't anger make him more credible? (Or less completely non-credible?)

In his world-view, he's innocent. He has just spent the past several hours being accused - falsely - of an attempted sexual assault. This is not a question about constitutional law, this is about him personally. It's logical that he would be angry.

I don't believe he's innocent, and I believe he's angry as a show, or because he doesn't like facing accusations from 35 years ago.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Up until now, he's been way too packaged and off his talking points.

Guy was tearing up and choking up and being emotional. I'm just being relatively objective.

But, honestly, like I just said, it's a fine line. Guy is STILL getting all choked up and shit.
