Is he really blaming this whole thing on Hillary Clinton?

Looks like Kavanaugh has his own coke as well. He might have overdone it and now has a bad case of the sniffles and some extra rage.

Hey lawyers - how much weight would these diaries/calendars have in a courtroom setting?

It depends. On a lot of factors. In a civil case, there would have been discovery and deposition testimony to establish just how reliable and authentic the calendars/diaries are.

A contemporaneous record, created before a dispute arose, would have great weight in general.

But the persuasive value of these calendars in this situation depends on the premise that something corroborating the event would have been recorded if it happened. And that seems questionable. (Not that an assault would be recorded, but that the going to the house where the assault happened would have been recorded.)

That's what I was wondering. Thanks.

I think different jurisdictions would differ on the outcome of this question, but in general high weight is given to contemporaneous notes, but Kavanaugh would have to show the notes on the calendar were contemporaneous and not written for a deceptive purpose. I think a strong challenge could be made that a 17 year old kid, especial one whose mother is a District Attorney, wouldn't write down on a calendar that they were attending a kegger. I find it highly unusual that someone still has a 1982 calendar from high school. Who holds on to shit like that?

I would bet he left them at his house when he went away to college or whatever, and his parents put them in a box with other high school stuff. And then they just sat in the box.

The only good thing is it will finally put a lie to the “good Republican” fiction that some people spin around people like Flake, Collins, Murkowski, Corker et al. There are no good Republicans. The entire party needs to be pushed into the sea.
