I have no idea if it would be Rothschild or Harkey or what but that certainly seems like a serious fuck up. Unless he was sick, I can’t see how any of that happens.
Right, but that’s merely one of the reasons you make sure you verify with the day’s SP he’s due out in the BP. If the pitcher’s in the john and has lost all sorts of bodily fluids, he needs to be bumped and the next man up needs to head to the pen for his pre-game session.
Serious fuck up.
I don’t like Boone. I think he’s a poor manager who’s made weird BP decisions throughout the year (like they’re playing a 250 game season)..But this takes the cake: he’s created an atmosphere where this sort of thing can happen. I mean, even Dock Ellis correctly thought he had the day off when he dropped acid.

Jesus I didn’t watch whole game but the dodger lowlight reel was bad. Catcher did kershaw no favors then left fielder fucked him in eye.
Yeah, it was like the team melted down defensively for 2 innings after the Woodruff HR. But give the Brewers' hitters credit for repeatedly hanging tough with 2 strikes and making Kershaw and the Dodgers defense work. The late innings of the game showed why I was confident that Dodgers would win the series coming in. They have such a deep lineup that I really think they can get to the Brewers' bullpen, and it got really shaky after Hader pitched his 3 innings. But that 3rd and 4th inning could not have worked out better for Counsell and the Brew Crew.

Dodgers self destructing again. Cant get pitchers out.

So Betts ran in to catch a shallow fly by Bregman. Ball was in front of him the entire time. He didn't have to dive. He just put his glove out and botched it.

Dombrowski fucking up the Red Sox in the ALCS thanks to a garbage fire bullpen is some pretty hilarious karma.
With Chris Sale clearly limited by his shoulder issue, the Astros have a distinct edge in this series on paper. The Res Sox have had a great season but I really don’t think their talent level is reflective of a 108 win team. Especially the bottom half of the lineup, which is relatively soft.

Ruled a hit.
Dafuk?
The best was there was somehow overwhelming evidence to overturn the call on second on that play, but not on Bregman's caught stealing.
well this is gonna be someone's new signature - bronto
The Steven Wright injury was a really big blow to an already shitty bullpen. Rather not have a top heavy lineup, but it's a really good top if they get going

Basically David Price has to throw a gem or they risk the prospect of a sweep.

I'm rooting for the Astros but starting to legitimately feel bad for Price. Gives up just one well hit ball this inning and all of a sudden it's 2-2.
How bout now. That's a long home run.

Hey John Smotlz, you are absolutely right that the naysayers will say Roberts should have taken Beuhler out instead of sending him back out for the 7th. That doesn't mean the naysayers would have been wrong.
(I was snug as a bug in a rug and away from my phone when smotlz said this, but I remembered this morning!)

My guess is that decision had as much to do with today’s game as last night’s. Rich Hill is not going to pitch deep at all tonight—18 hitters max, and Roberts probably wanted to save as many of his bullpen guys for today as possible. I thought that if yesterday were a true do or die game, Roberts should’ve pinch hit for Buehler in the 5th when he came up in an RBI spot down 1-0.
Are people really annoyed at Machado's 1st slide? 2nd one was dumb but not overly dangerous but any issues with the 1st start with Arcia being 3-4 feet in front of the base when trying to throw.

I definitely had no problem with first, but second was very weird. Is he a closet sack puncher?

Had Arcia thrown to 1B, Machado reaching out to hit his thigh would've forced the DP to be called. The second one was obvious. Also, I think it's important to understand the history of the player making these slides.
