Eons without a title, a new owner provides an influx of cash, Aguero scores on the final day/Roberts slides, new levels of dominance.

Fuck City with its dirty oil money and bottomless pit of cash from a repressive regime.
But stand in awe at the mighty machine currently running rampant in North London.

What a game. Tempted to say that Everton are complete and utter garbage, but Spurs played a big part in making them look that way.
I was a week early and yes Everton are garbage

it's too early to eat crow in regards to Pogba, wouldn't be surprised if this was yet another false dawn. But my god, what a difference.
if United miss top 4, it's all on Woodward for waiting too long.

Do people actually think that a guy who has excelled everywhere else he played, including as a key piece for a Euro runner-up and World Cup champion, was somehow unable to play well at ManU? I’m admittedly not that big of a soccer fan but that seems like a fairly obvious case of a player being misused and then scapegoated.degenerasian wrote: ↑Sun Dec 30, 2018 12:12 pm it's too early to eat crow in regards to Pogba, wouldn't be surprised if this was yet another false dawn. Re: 2018-2019 EPL Season
It was real easy to see this happening with Mourinho leaving. You hear stories about the British press, and you think it's just the Sun and other tabloids that deify the old grit your teeth, tough it out B.S., but even the reporting in the Guardian and ESPN has surprised me about Pogba. It's not nearly as racially tinged as what Sterling pointed out within the last month (in response to racial abuse from in game fans), but there's such a ridiculous "primadonna" attitude towards him. Who really gives a fuck what he does off the pitch? I've seen articles saying that since Mourinho is gone, and Man U have proved that they can play like this, that the players should be ashamed of themselves. Like they were dogging it under Jose. Fuck off with that mess.Joe K wrote: ↑Sun Dec 30, 2018 12:20 pmDo people actually think that a guy who has excelled everywhere else he played, including as a key piece for a Euro runner-up and World Cup champion, was somehow unable to play well at ManU? On another note, it's fantastic to see them winning (as I write this they're up 3-1 v. Bournemouth in the 70th minute), but it is much better that they're playing the attacking, swashbuckling style. No one would ask Paul Johnson's Georgia Tech teams to play Mike Leach's offense. Why in the world would Mourinho and pundits expect these talents to play Mourinho's boring ass style.
And, now it's 4-1 in the 72nd, thanks Big Rom!
I'm not sure Ole is the permanent answer, and Man U have faced minnows in his games in charge, so take from the results what you will, but THIS is what it felt like when Sir Alex was in charge. I do love seeing the baby faced assassin back in the red and black.

Re: 2018-2019 EPL Season
Totally agree.
The whole team looks better playing a more attacking style in roles more suited to their skill sets.
Mourinho had Pogba playing deeper in the midfield trying to start all the attacks and that didn’t work. Look where his goals have been, in the 6 yard box finishing off the end of plays.
With Matic and Herrera playing the deeper role defensively and starting the attack now, and with a more dynamic front four consisting of Rashford, Martial, Lingard, and Pogba everyone is being played to their strengths.
Mourinho was trying to get these guys to grind out 1-0 wins instead of letting them play fluidly and attack. And I think he was almost self sabotaging himself too since he was pouting he didn’t get enough transfer money this year.

I'm even more confused now. is this false dawn thing a real thing or just something that some think is a thing that isn't actually a thing?degenerasian wrote: ↑Sun Dec 30, 2018 12:47 pmsome think Pogba is overrated, even when he plays for Juve or France.Brontoburglar wrote: ↑Sun Dec 30, 2018 12:32 pm what in the world would have been the first "false dawn" to begin with

Right? It was fast, even in slow motion, and not a millimeter to spare. Very entertaining game.

Watching that game with no real rooting interest was exhausting, I can't imagine how draining it was for a fan. I don't recall any game being that high paced and end to end for 90 minutes. Just no let up at all.govmentchedda wrote: ↑Thu Jan 03, 2019 8:16 pmRight? It was fast, even in slow motion, and not a millimeter to spare. Very entertaining game.
While I should have been pulling for Liverpool, since Arsenal are too far back and City could have gone into a tail spin, and I hate City far more than I dislike Liverpool, and I'd much rather see Liverpool win the league, I found myself rooting for Liverpool to lose, so I don't have to worry about them matching the Invincible's glory. I don't know why I care, but dammit, I do. That said, it's a hell of a lot more fun watching City when I want them to win than when I want them to lose.

More importantly for me (even though I'm a Man U fan), is that both Fulham and Liverpool lost this round. Now all that needs to happen to ensure that I get to see Fulham/Liverpool on 3/16 is for that match to NOT be the lunchtime kickoff. Plane arrives at Gatwick at 11:10 that morning.
We're headed over with another couple to celebrate my wife, and the other husband's 40th birthdays. He's a massive Liverpool fan.

Re: 2018-2019 EPL Season
We've been sweating the logistics of this for a while. When we saw Liverpool was scheduled to be at Craven Cottage that weekend our hopes went up. Then, I saw that it's also QF weekend of FA Cup. The EPL games are all assigned dates and times through February, but not March yet. Both teams losing is a big step in the direction of us getting in to see this match. Now, it's all up to the schedule makers not having it be the early kickoff.
Another plus is that it looks like there are tons of seats available at the Cottage for the upcoming visit from Tottenham. I've been using other games there vs. larger competition to get a feel for potential ticket availability (in the hopes of not paying hospitality prices). Plus, I've got "loyalty points" with Fulham from the game we attended 2 years ago with Oiler and his now fiancee.
A Sunday game would be fantastic, to allow us to not be jetlagged and tired, but we'll take anything but the early Saturday slot.

Friend reminded me that Liverpool will be at Bayern the Wednesday prior to the matchweek v. Fulham. That will probably push our match to Sunday, I'd think. Maybe we'll get in 2 games that weekend.
