Hey guys am I the only one kind of disappointed this year. No real mid major, all 1,2,3 seeds advancing, only a few real close games.
I mean it could set up for a nice finish starting Thursday, but the under dog story was always great.
Last year was a little bit bonkers. Beyond UMBC, you had UIC (which, as an MI fan, thanks for that in the F4!) and the sweet 16 had a number of high numbers advancing.
This year is definitely chalk-y. That said, I also think one of the things happening the last at least 2 or 3 years is the selection committee is doing a better job of seeding. Folks are pointing at Wofford as a good example... No way Wofford gets a 7 seed 5 or 6 years ago. They likely get a 10-12 seed and knock off a wobbly first round in an "upset." This year they win their first rounder and get knocked off in a close game to Kentucky.

Probably. They seem like a handpicked Sweet 16 opponent for UNC.

Weird idea there. So, what, you get a tip play off of .8? You had the same thing going with 1.5 or whatever.

I think they were trying to get the TO with >0.5 to set up a play call for a catch and shoot.

No, I know, but the way the refs and timekeeper stuff works, they were putting way too much faith in things being completely on instant touch mode.
Not a big criticism, just think a TO and then orchestrate a Duke/KY type full court thing with 1.(whatever) was a higher odds deal. It was always going to need a super low percentage miracle thing to work out, so no big deal.

Purdue with an extremely Bruce Bowen like performance of shooting 49% from both 3 and from the line.

yeah, TT was a scary match-up going in, but no-one thought it was going to be THAT brutal.
MI is a weird team and has relied on defense to work through their habitual 5-10 minutes per game of shitting the bed on the offensive end. Last night they met their match.
TT is a brutal team to play at this point. Good luck to anyone trying to break that shit down.
