Stefan Fatsis who wrote a book about trying to kick in a game for the Broncos talked about his relationship with Bowlen on Hang Up and Listen. Sounds like a pretty solid owner with the right angle on his role.sancarlos wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:31 pmAnd, a Canadian!Pruitt wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 8:35 pmOne of the great owners.sancarlos wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 8:05 pm Longtime Denver Broncos' owner, Patrick Bowlen
Team made the Super Bowl 7 times and won 3 of them, since he bought the team in 1984. Elected to the HoF this year. He ran marathons and triathlons when he was younger. Gave up management of the team a couple years ago as signs of dementia took hold.

Jeff Austin newgrass mando player formerly of Yonder Mountain String Band. Not my dude as I think he was too full of himself, but an important guy in the Colorado music scene and newgrass/jam band cross over scene of the past few years.
plus he was a year younger than me, fuck.

I need to pickup my mandolin and learn how to play before they fill that slot. I really like their music, but don't know anything about the band. Not even sure where I got my hands on a bunch of their bootlegs years ago.Rush2112 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 10:44 am Jeff Austin newgrass mando player formerly of Yonder Mountain String Band. He left 4-5 years ago. I liked his new band and Yonder better without him.
We went to Telluride Bluegrass when they were playing and you would have thought the fucking Beatles were performing when YMSB came on stage. I was there for the Bela Fleck and Alison Krauss thank you.

Lee Iacocca. I’m putting him here because just because he postponed it a few years Chrysler still went bankrupt, right. I guess they got sold to Mercedes but there ain’t a bunch of Lebarons running these days.
Seemed like a big American success story but likely him and his cronies got rich and the little guy still got screwed. I’d be glad to be wrong so swamp take me to task.

Iacocca's death would sure have been a much bigger deal 20 or 30 years ago. He outlived his celebrity.

He postponed Chrysler's bankruptcy by more than 25 years, keeping thousands employed in the meantime.A_B wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2019 9:09 pm Lee Iacocca. And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

I’m really confused, and also laughing hard at what an extremely young Jared Lorenzen could possibly have said to new Hopkins graduates.
