Brexit
This insanity needs its own thread.
Parliament rejects all Brexit plans
So, maybe a "no-deal Brexit?"
Calamity.

That is actually a great idea. I have a fascination with the gritty period of England in the 1970s - mid 80's, so a massive recession might bring those days back.Sabo wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 7:58 amAlready thinking about visiting the UK in 2020 or 2021 once the pound completely tanks.Pruitt wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2019 8:32 pm This insanity needs its own thread.

The entire Brexit choice was presented to the public in 2016 with utterly misleading simplicity. It was sold with a pack of lies about both the size of the benefits and the ease of implementation, and it continues to be pushed by Conservative hard-liners who used to care about business but are now obsessed with restoring Britain’s “sovereignty” over any economic considerations.

Of course there a segment of the Conservative leaning crowd that's like "Oh, so this is how liberals conduct themselves?" in regards to this milkshake thing.
Yes, this is how the people who are tired of his shit conduct themselves. You can't murder him in the street so embarrassing him will have to suffice.

The longer this shitshow continues the more likely it becomes that we'll see a united Ireland in our lifetimes.
Fuck England and fuck the monarchy. Hopefully Scotland will hold another referendum and declare independence from the crown as well. (I'd also hope the same for Wales frankly, but support for independence there is still really low.)

You know, on the blessed day that the Trump administration ends, there will still be a United States of America. When this Brexit nonsense ends, who knows what the state of the U.K. will be.brian wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2019 1:28 pm The longer this shitshow continues the more likely it becomes that we'll see a united Ireland in our lifetimes.

I'm willing to bet that there has never been such self-destructive idiocy as we are seeing in Britain ever in a democracy.
And the tragedy of it is that Jeremy Corbyn has to be included in any list of POS politicians. An he is the alternative at the moment in the UK.
(Guess I have to exclude Germany in the 30s - but the UK was not in complete meltdown when this shit started)

May clutches at final straws of pretence
Gone by the weekend.
Gone by the weekend.
Barely any Conservative MPs bothered to cheer as May clashed with Jeremy Corbyn over school funding, the Labour leader again avoiding questions on Brexit.

Now THAT'S a Political Obituary!
May did indeed inherit a terrible hand. She then proceeded to douse it liberally with petrol and set it alight.

Re: Brexit
History will not judge him kindly.
I read that Cameron's publisher has asked him to cut 100,000 words from his memoir. That's about 350 pages! The arrogance of these people is incredible.
So, while the UK is supposed to be working towards this incredibly impactful Brexit, the ruling party is now knee deep in a leadership campaign. Which could be followed by a general election months later, all of this with a supposedly firm Brexit date that is 5 months away?
This is unbelievable!

This is the woman who Johnson recently left his wife for.
Oh dear me...Johnson can be heard refusing to leave the flat and telling Symonds to “get off my fucking laptop” before there is a loud crashing noise.
Symonds is heard saying Johnson had ruined a sofa with red wine: “You just don’t care for anything because you’re spoilt. You have no care for money or anything.”
The neighbour said: “There was a smashing sound of what sounded like plates. There was a couple of very loud screams that I’m certain were Carrie and she was shouting to ‘get out’ a lot. She was saying ‘get out of my flat’ and he was saying no. And then there was silence after the screaming.

Re: Brexit
Boris Johnson speaks! (From The Guardian):
People say that there won’t be any clean drinking water, and the planes won’t fly, and there won’t be milk solids and glucose and whey to make Mars bars. Do you really believe that? It is total nonsense. I prophesy very confidently that we will have a successful Brexit, the planes will fly, there will be clean drinking water, and there will be whey for the Mars bars, because where there’s a will, there’s a whey, as I never tire of saying.
