Balti F'ing Morons: Housing/Neighborhood Advice, Please :-)
Hey gang... So, the wife and I are pretty committed to downsizing and moving out of MoCo sometime in the next 12 months or so.
As I've prattled on about here, we both went to Hopkins and spent time around the city working various jobs (courtyhouse, Hopkins medical archives). So, we're eyes wide open in terms of how funky the place is... We also happen to really love the place, warts and all.
So... We drove around and looked at Zillow in the following:
* Locus Point (under armor land)
* Riverside (btwen LP and Federal Hill)
* Federal Hill
* Canton
* Brewer's Hill
* Patterson Park (kind of cursory)
(Didn't really bother with Fells, because we figure like Fed Hill the name along is going to add a percentage bump we don't need.)
We want to be water-adjacent, doesn't have to be water view necessarily. We also have a dog, so we need to have some green space.
Thoughts?

My friend loves living in Hamden. Not water adjacent unless you think the Jones Falls counts. Very dog friendly.

My wife and I live in Canton with our lab mix, Augie. A lot of people own dogs around here...There’s a couple dog parks in the area...It’s tough to call it dog-friendly though since nearly everything is paved over. We take him out to her mother’s place in Catonsville maybe once a week though, and he gets to run like a lunatic around the yard.
We’re getting ready to pull the plug on city livin’ though. Or whatever you call it living in Canton. I think we want a lawn and a backyard.

Federal hill (but closer to harbor than to Charles bar area portion of the neighborhood)
Canton
Locust point
Riverside
Brewer’s Hill
Patterson Park
If you are open to Patterson park - give Hampden / Remington a look - the neighborhoods have changed a lot since your hopkins days - and it is a 10 minute car ride or easy 20 minute bike ride to the water.
Eta - bonus neighborhood to glance at —Woodberry. Seriously, check out Woodberry.

Thanks Tb.
If we're gonna be in B'more, we're gonna want a water adjacent situation. This is going to be a fascinating journey.

We went into the Safeway and, ... "Yeah, this is solid enough." :DEnochRoot wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 10:10 am My wife and I live in Canton with our lab mix, Augie. Some of the decor is a little specific to taste, but otherwise a nice place... This made me realize the missing piece of furniture in my living room is a coffin standing in the corner.A_B wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 1:01 pm If anyone is still looking for a place around Baltimore
Looks cozy.

I have now read this 4 times and it's still cracking me up.
