Why wasn't Shirley in the All Star game?
Booo!
Looks like the game does the same thing as in real life, where every team gets at least one All-Star, so you see some so-so guys from bad teams instead of people who were maybe more deserving. Surprised in particular that Moreta didn't make it for Holland.

HR Derby screws up your swing, media obligations, can't get to the ESPYs as early, knowing you won't get MVP because you will get taken out but SS gets to play a full game...you would be thrilled to.

NEWS AND NOTES
- Gunpowder has been going all Hack Wilson, leading the league with 103 RBI at the end of July.
- Giff had a streak of 4 consecutive starts with a HR this month.
- Hey chedda, don't look at the boxscore for the 7/25 game.
- TT2.0 has been the tough-luck pitcher of the year, taking a comfortable lead into the 8th in his last two starts only to see it quickly wiped out by the bullpen. Guys, stop blowing his leads like the other team has a McDonald's sweet tea!

Gunpowder is probably aided in his chase of the RBI record by his complete refusal to walk. Brandon Phillips would be a huge fan.
Or aided by the player batting 2 spots ahead of him sitting 3rd in OBP in the league and 4th in On-Base + Slugging

Anyone else get a small satisfaction from checking the stats each week and seeing that you're still having a better season than the player who blocked your position in Burlington and forced your move to Holland? No?

Well, horse's ass.

Although I am having a good season, I was the one holding Gunpowder back. Beneficial to both teams.
To quote both Bruce Prichard and Tony Schiavone, "Fuck Duff Meltzer."
